While the majority of companies anticipated negative and severe impacts COVID-19 pandemic on supply chains (SC), most them lacked guidance how to model disruptions their performance under conditions. Lack such resulted in delayed reactions, incomplete understanding impacts, late deployment recovery actions. In this study, we offer a method modelling quantifying SC disruption wake pandemic. We develop multi-layer Bayesian network (BN) that can be used identify triggers risk events amid quantify consequences disruptions. The unique features BN, as forward backward propagation analysis, are utilised simulate measure impact different financial business continuity. way, combine resilience viability perspectives explicitly account for settings. outcomes research open novel theoretical lens application BNs setting. Our results decision-support tool predict better understand performance.

Supply chain (SC) and operations management has been developed for decades under the fundamental assumption of continuous availability (with some temporary fluctuations disruptions) resources to satisfy demand. Under extreme shocks long-lasting disruptions, SCs face long-term shortages components, energy, capital, labour, as well rapidly rising prices. These resource risks hyper-inflation pose novel unexpected challenges potentially leading global ripple effects. In this conceptual paper, we first analyse categorise available literature on SC with shortages. We then systemise managerial implications inflation, conceptualising potential research directions which appeared or may appear in settings shortage economy. conclude that economy provides a distinct specific context goes beyond conventional problems constrained disrupted – i.e. simultaneous disruptions material, capital availability. This paper could be useful researchers practitioners alike impacts operations, navigate adaptation recovery processes structured way help society cope deep uncertainties.

Abstract Data science and big data analytics (DS &BDA) methodologies tools are used extensively in supply chains logistics (SC &L). However, the existing insights scattered over different literature sources there is a lack of structured unbiased review methodology to systematise DS &BDA application areas SC &L comprehensively covering efficiency, resilience sustainability paradigms. In this study, we first propose an unique systematic for field &L. Second, use proposed on techniques fields aiming at classifying models/techniques employed, structuring their practical areas, identifying research gaps potential future directions. We analyse 364 publications which variety &BDA-driven modelling methods processes across decision-making levels. Our analysis triangulated resilience, perspectives. The developed novel classifications categorisations can be by researchers practitioners alike applications
