Travel time use has long been hypothesised to affect behavioural aspects of travel demand, such as mode choice and the value time. However, can also influence how people organise their daily schedules because travellers perform activities release outside journey, a behaviour we coined 'activitiy transferability' in this study. This research develops comprehensive conceptual framework investigate determinants activity transferability. For that, utilise rich dataset representative sample (n = 1673) Greater Melbourne Geelong population (Australia) implement an Integrated Choice Latent Variable (ICLV) model. We model three mutually exclusive behaviours (1) no engagement use; (2) without transferability; (3) with transferability, during trip towards individuals' main (e.g., work, study, or other purpose). The ICLV results indicate transferability is time-management strategy for overlapping different roles and, thus, potentially having more constraints. Conversely, seems be decreasing dislike travelling. Activity likely occur passengerised modes (i.e., public transport car passenger) favourable conditions seat availability) less on short journeys. Bringing laptops internet connection associated while smartphones are predictors only latter. Importantly, after controlling time-use-related latent constructs, polychronicity becomes weak predictor suggesting potential omitted variable bias previous research. By unveiling fundamental use, our have significant implications practice, including investments, long-distance modes, passenger vehicle automation.
