The fracture evolution and the strength characteristics of a jointed rock mass under hydro-mechanical coupling are key issues that affect safety stability underground engineering. In this study, kind transparent rock-like resin was adopted to investigate crack initiation propagation modes 3D flaw coupling. influences water pressure dip angle on properties specimen were analyzed. experiment results indicated modes, presented two types modes: low-water-pressure type high-water-pressure type. increase in had significant promoting effect propagation, which changed overall failure mode specimen. With angle, critical growth length wing decreased moment fin-like showed hysteretic tendency. stress thresholds. When lower than threshold, increased slightly gradually with pressure. Once threshold exceeded, both significantly first decreasing then increasing lowest found for containing 45° flaw, while highest 75° flaw. This study helps deepen understanding mechanism engineering has certain theoretical applied value design construction safety.

Coastal underground engineering projects are prone to seawater intrusion during blasting operations, posing significant risks the safety of construction personnel and structural integrity projects. To ensure operations in areas at risk intrusion, this study focuses on a section coastal tunnel that is such intrusion. Using fracture mechanics theory silo analysis methods, minimum safe distance between workface fault prevent determined. Numerical simulations employed analyze dynamic response surrounding rock attenuation vibrations as excavation progresses near fault-controlled zone. This also explores impact stability. By employing regression analysis, establishes quantitative relationships amount explosive used peak particle velocity (PPV) different distances, well range damage PPV various distances. allows for determination threshold area. The accuracy computational model validated using field-measured data. Finally, an optimized design strategy based electronic detonator initiation proposed control area, ensuring safety. provides theoretical technical references achieving efficient
