Knowledge from ecological sciences is an important reference for landscape design as Urban Green Spaces (UGS) play a critical role in the protection of cities. There ongoing debate among ecologists on value exotic vegetation to ecosystem resilience and integrity, with authors arguing that order ecosystems survive future climates, species similar conditions their current range must be considered. Others deem biodiversity vital functions services, stating most losses are man-induced should addressed through enhancement native communities. Through literature review, we confronted arguments used this debate, aim conducting comprehensive analysis potential different aspects vegetation’s performance. The outcomes assessment assemblages within UGS projects. Despite strong regarding performative adaptive capacity, conclude exotics pose significant risks have multiple negative impacts processes. Natives not only present high but also provide additional benefits biodiversity, people. In broader framework, demonstrates preference use situations.

Urbanization development is the main cause of drastic habitat changes and biodiversity loss, urban green space construction one effective ways to mitigate decay. The proper landscapes can maintain or increase resources provided by biodiversity, especially bird diversity. This paper based on 4112 papers published in this research area between 2002 2022, CiteSpace was used conduct a bibliometric analysis terms number articles published, country region publication, core authors, academic development. systematically reviews hotspots, history, frontiers landscape architecture At same time, relationship diversity discussed context features, vegetation characteristics, human behavioral activities. results revealed: (1) association camping received high priority from 2022. Moreover, has become mature discipline. (2) Throughout there are four hotspots (fundamental communities, influencing factors related community activity rhythms, ecological ornamental values birds), stages (2002-2004, 2005-2009, 2010-2015, 2016-2022), several frontiers. (3) Our aim reasonably consider characteristics birds future construction, thoroughly study strategies management principles for harmonious coexistence humans birds.

Urban street trees provide many benefits to surrounding communities, but our ability assess such relies on the availability of high-quality urban tree data. While these data are numerous, they not available in an easily accessible, centralized place. To fill this gap, we aggregated public and private into a single, comprehensive inventory California called Forest (CUF) Inventory. These offered (aggregated ZIP code) via online portal, which at time publication contained over 6.6 million records. In study, first describe assembly utility inventory. Then, conduct most assessment diversity structure California's forest date statewide, regional, local spatial scales. analyses demonstrate that forests highly diverse among world. We present new intuitive metric species diversity, top or TD-50 index, represents cumulative number accounting for 50 % abundance forest. used from 81 well-inventoried cities index was robust good predictor metrics like Shannon Index. also found small-statured trees, as crape myrtles (Lagerstroemia cv.) dominate forests. This one world's largest provides necessary structure, value multiple The inventory's presentation information can be gained its analysis model management worldwide.

Human-dominated urban ecosystems have encroached on native habitats, positioning parks as crucial sanctuaries that support bird diversity conservation. Bird communities tend to act significant indicators of habitat quality. Birds play a key role in generating soundscapes environments, where healthy acoustic environment is essential not only for human well-being but also serves core focus environmental monitoring and landscape enhancement. Previous studies pointed out indices great advantages strong feasibility long-term monitoring. However, few the comparative analysis across subject varying degrees urbanization been published this field. In study we recorded springtime soundscape 8 Nanjing (China) from March April 2023 10 hours each day. Six Acoustic Complexity Index, Diversity Normalized Difference Soundscape Bioacoustic Entropy Index Power Spectral Density were used quantify results. To investigate influence vegetation habitats activity, utilized K-means clustering categorize based their developmental gradient, while Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was employed simplify dimensions 12 factors. The results revealed distribution birds complex interplay variables including gradient development, functions park plots, characteristics among others. Day-to-day, activities show similarities, yet birds' responses environments vary by location. daily movement visitors exerts discernible birds, even those adapted life. instances heightened demonstrate proclivity seeking refuge less disturbed areas, activity space tends be concentrated higher plants. Vegetation areas high disturbance are found provide substantial habitats. Specifically, featuring tall trees or ground cover form buffer zones positive effect weakening impact communities. terms with indices, more consistent performance, rendering them reliable than other indices.

As one of the largest cities in Slovakia, Bratislava needs to proceed with greenery concept regard mechanisms for adapting climate change. The potential developing new areas can be seen public, semi-public, and private spaces. In this sense, aim our research was map current situation urban city, identify capacity enhancement small green spaces, present option participating development selected places city’s inhabitants. condition analysed described, a special emphasis on untapped housing estates. Using examples from abroad, cases successful revitalisation estates are given, main problems faced by region were assessed. Apart above-mentioned aim, there intention discover trends using environment, compare past conditions, or options possibilities designing greenery. A proposal set up system semi-public is viewed as possible promising result. another required step, we effect that different types information media have strengthening relationship between city its inhabitants, i.e., improve communication dialogue establishing an online platform issues increase attention well inhabitants’ participation public life.
