Abstract
As
an
alternative
to
antibiotics,
acidifiers
have
gained
widespread
application
in
the
feed
industry.
However,
current
acidifier
products
often
suffer
from
limited
antibacterial
efficacy.
To
tackle
this
issue,
we
synthesized
a
series
of
organic
acid
-
gallium
complexes
(Ga-OA)
using
acids
(OA)
and
Ga
3+
as
precursors,
via
liquid-phase
synthesis
method.
The
antimicrobial
activity
Ga-OA
against
Escherichia
coli,
Staphylococcus
aureus,
Salmonella
spp.
was
assessed
Oxford
cup
agar
dilution
methods
determine
minimum
inhibitory
concentration
(MIC)
bactericidal
(MBC),
respectively.
It
found
that
showed
markedly
higher
than
each
individually,
followed
order:
Ga-Lac
(lactic
acid)
>
Ga-Ac
(acetic
Ga-BA
(butyric
acid).
Furthermore,
MIC
values
coli,
Staphylococcus
aureus,
Salmonella
spp
were
2.84,
0.18,
2.84
mmol/L,
respectively,
meanwhile,
MBC
these
three
bacteria
5.68,
1.42,
5.68
Transcriptome
analysis
revealed
mechanism
is
initiated
by
binding
bacterial
membranes,
which
promotes
entry
into
cell.
This
intracellular
Ga³⁺
then
disrupts
iron
transport,
ultimately
resulting
death.
These
results
suggest
potential
be
promising,
safe,
effective
agent
animal
husbandry,
providing
solution
antibiotic
resistance
concerns.

The
unobstructed

poultry
production

The
prohibition

antibacterial
agents
in
animal
husbandry
has
spurred
research
into
the
creation

probiotic
supplements
aimed
at

microbiota

during

29–42
