Biological conversion of organic solid wastes to stabilized matter (OM) with high plant nutrient makes composting an ideal technique for managing waste. Present review summarizes the various bins manufactured around world that are used The knowledge about indices related process has become important and wider area research in current time. therefore focuses on stability maturity lays emphasis advantages uses matured compost. Composting useful converting compost at municipal level or home. Organic such as kitchen waste like food scraps, preparation residuals, etc. garden leaves, branches trees, grass clipping, etc can easily be converted into use these bins. This helpful conservation energy natural resource, reduce air water pollution help saving landfill space.

Composting is an effective process for treating organic solid waste (OSW). There a growing interest in recovering and reusing heat from composting, the context of climate change fossil fuel depletion. Several literature reviews have been conducted to address composting process; however, several engineering aspects, including estimation, recovery, utilization, are inadequately addressed current reviews. To fill this knowledge gap, we bring together on provide discussion methods calculating potential OSW, estimating amount production generated heat. Moreover, summarize utilization point out challenges outlook future research. The results show that heating value different OSW can be calculated by ultimate analysis, proximate or composition analysis. used estimation: degradation method adequately describe process, O2 simpler implement, balance only valid at large scale reactors. Different types reactors use techniques recovery: water jacket suitable small-scale reactors, while tube buried-in pile percolation especially lignocellulosic biomass composting. Heat exchanger head space low-temperature recovery technologies mainly commercial recovered potentially building applications such as hot service, flooring wall heating.

The organic solid waste of municipal origin stands as one the residual streams greatest concern: great amounts continuously produced over time well its biochemical and physical characteristics require proper handling via biological processes, pursuing recovery material and/or generation energy. At European level, most industrial plants treating fraction (OFMSW) rely on composting, which is a well-established reliable process that easy to operate in different socio-economic contexts. Nevertheless, when regarded life cycle perspective view principles circular economy underlying management, several issues (e.g., presence toxic substances compost) can be recognized technical challenges, requiring further studies identify possible sustainable solutions. This work aims at discussing these challenges figuring out state art composting perspective. Firstly, main mentioned affecting compost quality sustainability are briefly reviewed. Next, promote effective use light principles, research experiences critically presented highlight current concerning environmental health impact reduction scientific perspectives overcome quality. Based critical analysis reviewed studies, it emerged should aimed unveiling hazard potential emerging contaminants address understanding mechanisms their removal during composting. Moreover, adoption multidisciplinary design may play key role towards definition cost-effective environmentally friendly strategies process.
