The interaction among microorganisms in the anaerobic digestion of food waste (ADFW) reactors lead to degradation organics and recycling energy. Viruses are an important component involved ADFW, but rarely investigated. Furthermore, little is known about how viruses affect methanogenesis.Thousands viral sequences were recovered from five full-scale ADFW reactors. Gene-sharing networks indicated that samples contained substantial numbers unexplored anaerobic-specific viruses. Moreover, communities exhibited both commonalities heterogeneities. lab-scale dynamic analysis typical scenarios suggested had similar kinetic characteristics their prokaryotic hosts. To destabilize the microstructure resulting from microorganism physiology and substance combination in waste-activated sludge (WAS), this study proposes a novel approach by employing nonionic surfactants for pretreatment with specific focus on alkyl polyglucosides (APG). Inspired enhanced dispersibility targeted hydrophobic interactions of at low doses, strategically applies APG 0.05 0.10 g/g TS, which boosted biogas production 49.7 62.9%, respectively, compared to control group. The analysis showed that assembly functional groups EPS surface free energy particles led evacuation TB-EPS. Microbial diversity reveals shifts bacteria archaea response pretreatment, significant as Azonexus, Syntrophomonas, Lutispora, Methanosarcina emerge new dominant genera. When adding dose (<0.10 TS), destabilization (weakening nonfunctional binding between biological enzymes) increase freedom activity enzymes involved methane metabolism pathways. This can provide valuable insights interface regulation efficient biomass recovery complex organic waste.

The n-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 LC-PUFAs) have a key role in maintaining fish growth and health. However, oil (FO), the main source of LC-PUFAs, is relative shortage due to rapid development aquaculture industry. In this study, we investigated efficacy replacing with mixtures algal (AO) from Schizochytrium sp. terrestrially sourced oils (animal poultry (PO) or vegetable rapeseed (RO)) diets juvenile tiger puffer (average initial body weight 23.8 ± 1.51 g). An 8-week feeding trial was conducted using three experimental diets: control diet containing 6% added FO (control FO-C) two 3% AO + PO RO (groups AO+PO AO+RO, respectively), FO. Each fed triplicate tanks 25 each tank. gain, feed conversion ratio, composition, serum biochemical parameters were not significantly different among groups, except that group had lower muscle lipid content than other groups. AO-added increased DHA whole fish, muscle, liver samples but reduced EPA content. mixture treatments contents monounsaturated acid (MUFA) decreased saturated (SFAs) samples. MUFA SFA dietary did affect hepatic histology tended result atrophy intestinal villi. treatment downregulated gene expression proinflammatory cytokines (il-1β tnf-α) fibrosis marker gene, acta2. inhibited tight junction protein, claudin 18. upregulated genes related cell differentiation apoptosis (myod, myog, myf6, myf5, bcl-2, bax). conclusion, combination terrestrial (poultry oil) can be an effective alternative puffer, mixing strategy may better modified consideration

Treating protein-rich wastewater using cost-effective and simple-structured single-stage reactors presents several challenges. In this study, we applied an anaerobic sequencing batch reactor (AnSBR) to treat from a slaughterhouse. We focused on identifying the key factors influencing removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) settling performance sludge. The AnSBR achieved maximum total COD 90%, protein degradation efficiency exceeding 80%, methane conversion over 70% at organic loading rates up 6.2 g L-1 d-1. found that variations in both rate within hydraulic retention time buffer tank had significant effect removal. reactor, which determined ammonification efficiencies residual carbohydrate concentrations liquid, affected sludge settleability. Furthermore, genus Clostridium sensu stricto 1, known as protein- lipids-degraders, was predominant reactor. Statistical analysis showed correlation between core microbiome efficiency, highlighting importance governing process treatment. Our results will provide valuable insights optimise design operation for efficient treatment wastewater.
