Uranium extraction from seawater is a potential technique that will change the world. Adsorption capacity, selectivity, and antibacterial ability for high-performance uranium adsorbents remain major challenges. In this study, dual-ligand zeolitic imidazolate framework 8 (ZIF-8) decorated with cyano groups (ZIF-8-CN) prepared via facile blend strategy at room temperature. Owing to abundant mesopores nitrogen functional groups, ZIF-8-CN shows an extremely high uptake of 1000 mg/g pH = 6, which 2.42 times pristine ZIF-8. Noteworthily, possesses 16.2 adsorption in natural within 28 days, distribution coefficient (Kd 3.25 × 106 mL/g) far greater than other coexisting metal ions, demonstrating marked preference uranyl ions. Except coordination between imidazole, provide additional sites preferentially bind uranyl, thereby strengthening affinity uranyl. Notably, displays ultrastrong antimicrobial against both Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus, greatly desired scale-up marine tests. Our study demonstrates capture provides wide scope application mixed-ligand MOFs.
