Increasing radical yields to reduce UV fluence requirement for achieving targeted removal of micropollutants in water would make UV-based advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) less energy demanding the context United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and carbon neutrality. We herein demonstrate that, by switching radiation source from conventional low-pressure at 254 nm (UV254) emerging Far-UVC 222 (UV222), fluence-based concentration HO• UV/peroxydisulfate (UV/PDS) AOP increases 6.40, 2.89, 6.00 times deionized water, tap surface respectively, with SO4•– also 5.06, 5.81, 55.47 times, respectively. The enhancement generation is confirmed using a kinetic model. pseudo-first-order degradation rate constants 16 UV222/PDS are predicted be 1.94–13.71 higher than those UV254/PDS AOP. Among tested matrix components, chloride nitrate decrease but increase Compared AOP, decreases formation potentials carbonaceous disinfection byproducts (DBPs) nitrogenous DBPs.

Transition-metal-based nanozymes show great potential for chemiluminescence (CL) detection due to their stability, excellent catalytic properties, good biocompatibility, and facile synthesis. In this study, bimetallic CoMoO4 nanorods with high peroxidase activity were synthesized using a hydrothermal method, followed by calcination treatment. The as-synthesized utilized as catalysts CL the first time. They enhance intensity of luminol/hydrogen peroxide system nearly 750-fold. Furthermore, sensitive rapid platform dopamine was established based on quenching effect signal system. proposed method exhibited linear range 10–500 nM limit 1.98 nM. Moreover, in serum samples successfully measured standard addition showing satisfactory recovery 97.2–104.3%. This work provides robust support development efficient platforms detection.

The feasibility of saturating aqueous anoxic solutions with in situ-generated high-purity nitric oxide (NO) is shown herein. A methemoglobin assay estimated the average concentration to be ca. 20 ± 3 µM. Graphene dispersions were prepared by ultrasound-assisted extra exfoliation. These dispersions, including unpurified (pristine) samples and purified from transition metal impurities (bulk) fractions (bulkGO) (nano) separated (nanoGO) a range 0.5 14 kDa ppm level concentrations. robust reproducible chemiluminescence (CL) validated interaction between graphene NO luminol-based system. results showed significant increase scavenging activity within bulkGO nanofractions ranging 3.5 kDa. different reaction pathways underlying transformation are being evaluated, focusing on understanding how its presence or absence affects these processes. Our kinetic model suggests difference regulation; nanoGO demonstrates an interception rate seventy-times higher than that achieved through CL quenching.

Nitrite (NO2−) and nitrate (NO3−) can be produced in the distribution systems of chloraminated drinking water due to nitrification ammonia. The most applied inorganic chloramine for this purpose, namely monochloramine (NH2Cl), is also released into aquatic environments from treatment plants' effluent within industrial waste streams. Within process, continuous monitoring disinfectant levels necessary limit harmful by-product (DBP) formation.
