Abstract Under the hydrothermal condition and presence of organic amines, incorporating lanthanide (Ln) ions into monolacunary Keggin‐type germanotungstate precursor resulted in formation two new complex clusters formulated as H 17 (H 2 en) 5 [K 3 O)(GeW 10 O 37 TbOTb) 4 ( μ 6 ‐W 12 )] ⋅ 45H GeW‐Tb ) 22 (GeW EuOEu) O)( 44H GeW‐Eu (en=ethylenediamine), which have been structurally characterized by elemental analyses, ICP analysis, IR spectra, thermogravimetric bond valence sum calculations single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The most prominent structural feature revealed an unprecedented oxygen‐bridging Ln‐substituted bilacunary tetramers encapsulating [W ] 6− connector. What's more interesting is that a versatile library linkable units including [α‐GeW 10− , internal oxo group between Ln ions, well central tritungstate intermediate are all generated situ thanks to potential promotion reaction system. In particular, possible assembly mechanism for proposed, their solid‐state photoluminescence properties also discussed detail. To our knowledge, both intermediates highly robust POM building blocks were first discovered. studies highlight diversity germanotungstates provide direction design other functional based POMs future.

Lanthanide metal clusters excel in combining molecular and material chemistry properties. Here, we report an efficient cooperative sensitization UC phenomenon of a Eu3+/Yb3+ nonanuclear lanthanide cluster CD3OD. While most research on molecule-based electron spin qubits has focused S = 1/2 ions for single-qubit gates, the need qubit interactions in quantum operations driven interest higher-spin molecules and multilevel states. Herein, we study dynamics of two mononuclear gadolinium-substituted polyoxometalate-organic hybrids with general formula K5[Gd(α-XW11O39)(H2L)]·14H2O (X Si, Ge; H2L N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-bis(2-hydroxy-3-formyl-5-bromobenzyl)ethylenediamine), 1Si-Gd 1Ge-Gd. Pulsed EPR measurements reveal spin-lattice relaxation (T1) coherence (Tm) times up to 2315 2.6 μs at 3 K, respectively, diamagnetically diluted samples, as well Rabi oscillations 20 K. The obtained results make 1Ge-Gd few Gd-based complexes displaying such behavior, highlighting challenge coherently manipulating states Gd. Moreover, their hybrid organic-inorganic nature endows them chemical robustness solution stability, essential prerequisites surface immobilization future integration practical devices.
