Omics methodologies, such as genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics and microbiomics, have revolutionized biological research by allowing comprehensive molecular analysis in livestock animals. However, despite being widely used various animal species, on donkeys has been notably scarce. China, renowned for its rich history donkey husbandry, plays a pivotal role their conservation utilization. China boasts 24 distinct breeds, necessitating efforts, especially smaller breeds facing extinction threats. So far, omics approaches employed studies of milk meat, shedding light composition quality. Similarly, methods utilized to explore the basis associated with growth, meat production, quality traits. also unraveled critical microbiota health nutrition, gut microbiome revealing associations factors pregnancy, age, transportation stress, altitude. Furthermore, applications addressed issues, including infectious diseases reproductive problems. In addition, these provided insights into improvement efficiency research. conclusion, methodologies are essential advancing knowledge about donkeys, genetic diversity, across domains. is still infancy, there need continued enhance breeding, welfare beyond.

Background The Chinese forest musk deer, a solitary ungulate renowned for its secretion, is under extinction threat despite extensive use in traditional medicine and perfumery. demand significantly outstrips natural supply. Purpose This study aimed to explore the differences peptide profiles between cultured gland cells develop sustainable alternatives production aid conservation of deer. Materials Methods Musk samples from deer were collected analyzed using EASY-nLC 1000 system. Peptide extraction, nano LC–MS/MS analysis, advanced peptidomics techniques employed identify compare compositions. Results found significant secreted Cultured could partially replicate complex environment musk, with some unique peptides identified not present secretions. Conclusion While show potential mimicking synthesis, notable suggest importance gland’s microenvironment deer’s physiological conditions. research establishes foundation optimizing culture enhance therapeutic qualities synthesized contributing species.

The aim of this study was to investigate the changes in milk compositions and blood parameters Dezhou donkeys during lactation. Milk serum samples from six lactating were collected at 1, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150 180 days results displayed that yield lactation first increased then gradually decreased, with peak production period 30-60 after parturition. Compared other stages, fat, protein, solids non-fat (SNF) higher early (p < 0.05). Conversely, late stage had a lactose content 0.05); mineral elements donkey decreased prolongation prolactin (PRL), insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), total protein (TP), albumin (ALB), glucose (GLU), cholesterol (TG), triglyceride (TC), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), high density lipoprotein (HDL) low (LDL) 0.05), similar correlation analysis showed positively correlated PRL, IGF-1 ALP, negatively ALB composition, such as SNF GLU, LDH, TP, ALB, TC, TG, HDL LDL above indicated significant effects on production, biochemical indicators hormone donkeys. This investigated donkeys' performance stages for time, which may contribute exploration nutritional value provide theoretical support regulation utilisation milk.

Milk bioactivity refers to the specific health effects of milk components beyond nutrition. The science involves systematic study these and their effects, as verified by empirical data, controlled experiments, logical arguments. This study evaluates formula, comparing it to standard formula and assessing its noninferiority breast milk. Data were sourced from studies published between January 2000 March 2024 PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web Science, Embase. Eight randomized controlled trials involving 1352 healthy term neonates, infants, children up 2 years old included. Bovine was significantly associated with improved cognitive development (mean difference: 3.29, 95% CI: 1.65 4.93, p < 0.001) demonstrated minimal heterogeneity (I2 = 0%, 0.564). It showed significant improvement executive function but not language, motor, or social-emotional development. In non-inferiority analysis, difference compared regarding These findings support as a valuable addition for benefits.
