A visible-light-induced radical cascade regioselective acylation/cyclization of 1,7-dienes with acyl oxime esters for the preparation acylation polycyclic compounds via NCR-mediated C-C σ-bond cleavage is established. The transformation involves in and selective addition electron neutral C═C bonds synthesis quinolinone derivatives, not traditional seven-membered ring products. strategy offers several advantages, including broad substrate tolerance, no need bases, hyperstoichiometric initiators, other auxiliaries.

Abstract The research of electron donor‐acceptor complex has developed fast in the field photochemistry. Herein, green and efficient metal‐free visible‐light‐promoted synthesis difluorochroman‐4‐ones been achieved with 2‐(allyloxy)arylaldehyde bromodifluoroacetamide, which is driven by noncovalent interactions between 2‐(allyloxy)arylaldehyde/ N , N′ ‐tetramethylethylene diamine (TMEDA) bromodifluoroacetamide/TMEDA. By precisely optimizing donor reaction solvent, a wide range structurally diverse difluorochroman‐4‐ones, including aryl amide, aliphatic amide ester groups, were obtained up to 76 % yields. This strategy offers benefits simple operation, good yields, high atomic economy broad applicability, providing an essential complement traditional approaches for preparation chroman‐4‐one skeletons without any transition metals, photocatalysts or oxidants.

A metal- and aldehyde-free visible-light-driven photoredox-neutral alkene acylarylation with readily available cyanoarenes is described. variety of 3-(arylmethyl)chroman-4-ones (i.e., homoisoflavonoids) analogs are efficiently synthesized good functional group tolerance. This mild protocol relies on a phosphoranyl radical-mediated acyl radical-initiated cyclization selective radical-radical coupling sequence, also further highlighted by subsequent derivatization to chromone 2H-chromene as well its application in the three-component acylarylation.
