Unveiling Chirality Transfer between Chiral Centers and Metal Halides in Chiral Organic–Inorganic Hybrid Metal Halides

Chirality
transfer
refers
to
the
process
in
which
chiral
cations
compel
crystallization
of
inorganic
component
into
Sohncke
group.
Enhancing
chirality
organic-inorganic
hybrid
metal
halides
(OIHMHs)
through
transfer,
aimed
at
improving
chiroptical
and
spintronic
properties,
remains
challenging
due
complexity
underlying
mechanism.
To
investigate
this,
we
propose
a
novel
concept─chirality
coefficient─as
means
quantifying
strength
OIHMHs.
A
comparative
study
OIHMHs
with
varying
dimensionality,
ions,
centers
was
conducted
elucidate
this
By
analyzing
factors
such
as
hydrogen
bonding,
number
centers,
helical
geometry,
structural
distortions,
found
that
is
influenced
by
combination
dimensions
centers.
Importantly,
our
findings
reveal
0D,
1D
OIHMHs,
particularly
zigzag
chain
configuration,
exhibit
stronger
than
their
2D
counterparts.
Moreover,
reduction
enhances
transfer.
However,
no
direct
correlation
observed
between
spin
splitting.
These
insights
contribute
more
comprehensive
understanding
mechanisms
provide
strategic
approach
for
enhancing
associated
physical
properties
