As breath nitric oxide (NO) is a biomarker of respiratory inflammation, reliable techniques for the online detection ppb-level NO in exhaled are essential noninvasive diagnosis inflammation. Here, we report sensor based on multiperiodic spectral reconstruction neural network. First, method that transforms spectrum from wavelength domain to intensity proposed remove noise and interference signals spectrum. Different traditional processing domain, enhances absorption characteristics target gas while discretizing signals. This facilitates extraction Then, network built detect concentration NO. Laboratory-based results show enables (1.63–846.68 ppb) with mean absolute error (MAE), percentage (MAPE), accuracy 0.31 ppb, 0.96% 0.63%, respectively. Furthermore, an actual exhalation experiment proved capable distinguishing healthy people simulated patients, which provides way realize optical methods medical field.

Label-free detection techniques for single particles and molecules play an important role in basic science, disease diagnostics, nanomaterial investigations. While fluorescence-based methods are tools molecule imaging, they limited by available molecular probes photoblinking photobleaching. Photothermal microscopy has emerged as a label-free imaging technique capable of detecting individual nanoabsorbers with high sensitivity. Whispering gallery mode (WGM) microresonators can confine light small volume enhanced light-matter interaction thus promising ultra-sensitive photothermal platform. Sucrose provides both sweetness and energy by binding to Venus flytrap domains (VFD) of the heterodimeric sweet taste receptor (T1R2/T1R3). In contrast, non-caloric sweeteners such as sucralose aspartame only bind one specific domain (VFD2) T1R2, resulting in high-intensity sweetness. this study, we investigate mechanism various steviol glycosides, artificial sweeteners, a negative allosteric modulator (lactisole) at four distinct sites: VFD2, VFD3, transmembrane 2 (TMD2), TMD3 through experiments computational docking studies. Our results reveal multiple sites for tested ligands, including radiolabeled ligands. experimental evidence demonstrates that C20 carboxy terminus Gα protein can intracellular region either TMD2 or TMD3, altering GPCR affinity high-affinity state glycosides. These findings provide mechanistic understanding structure function receptor. other different (T1R2/T1R3), levels Here, authors T1R2/T1R3 studies, revealing ligands structural– correlations ligand–receptor interactions.

Abstract Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a form of dementia marked by amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles in the brain. Amyloid beta (Aβ) an AD biomarker which linked to these tangles. Measuring Aβ levels can help with early diagnosis aid drug studies delaying dementia. This challenging, however, due low biofluids. Here we use FLOWER (frequency-locked optical whispering evanescent resonator) quantify post-mortem cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) Aβ42 control, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), participants. measures resonant wavelength shift microtoroid changes refractive index within its field. measure CSF (area under curve, AUC = 0.92) higher performance than ELISA (AUC 0.82) distinguish between control MCI samples. demonstrates FLOWER’s ability screen samples for AD.
