ABSTRACT Chinese yam ( Dioscorea opposita Thunb. cv. Tiegun) has been utilized in traditional medicine and as a food source for centuries. However, the metabolite profiles antioxidant activities of by‐product peel have not studied sufficiently. Thus, to effectively identify active metabolites peel, we employed UHPLC–MS/MS‐based widely targeted metabolomics on from loessial soil (LPCY) sandy (SPCY). A total 1054 were identified, comprising 379 primary metabolites, 528 secondary 147 other compounds. Notably, multivariate analyses revealed presence 143 differentially accumulated (DAMs) between SPCY LPCY. Linoleic acid metabolism, phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, plant hormone signal transduction, pyruvate sphingolipid metabolism main regulated pathways. The DPPH, ABTS, FRAP assays demonstrated that LPCY significantly higher than those SPCY. Correlation analysis most DAMs, including phenolic acids, lipids, organic amino exhibited significant positive correlations with r ≥ 0.7, p < 0.05). These results indicate promotes accumulation antioxidant‐active Overall, this study suggests peels hold potential rich natural bioactive substances.
