In this study, the combination of sequential solvent fractionation technical Kraft lignin was followed by allylation most OH functionalities to give highly functional thermoset resins. All fractions were functionalized on phenolic (≥95%) and carboxylic acid (≥85%) a significant extent aliphatic moieties (between 43 75%). The resins subsequently cross-linked using thiol-ene chemistry. high amount allyl resulted in cross-link density. Dynamic mechanical analysis measurements showed that thioether content, directly related strongly affects performance these thermosets with glass transition temperature (Tg) between 81 95 °C storage modulus 1.9 3.8 GPa for all thermosets. lignin-based thermosets' morphology, at nanoscale, studied wide-angle X-ray scattering measurements. Two π-π stacking interactions observed: sandwich (≈4.1-4.7 Å) T-shaped (≈5.5-7.2 Å). introduction weakens interactions. A new signal corresponding distance ≈3.5 Å observed thermosets, which attributed organized structure. At same time, superstructure distance/size 7.9-17.5 samples.
