The biomass lignin is the only large-volume renewable feedstock that composed of aromatics but has been largely underutilized and sought for valorization as a value-added material. Recent research highlighted promising alternative to traditional petrol-based reinforcements functional additives rubber composites. This review summarized recent advances in functionalization variety composites, well compounding techniques effectively dispersing within matrix. Significant progress achieved development high-performance advanced rubber/lignin composites through carefully designing structure lignin-based optimization interfacial morphologies. Review discussed effect on composite properties, including mechanical reinforcement, dynamic antiaging performance, oil resistance, also stimuli-responsive performance detail. A critical analysis future presented concluding remarks.
