Child

Abstract
The
ability
to
regulate
one’s
emotions
is
foundational
for
healthy
development
and
functioning
in
a
multitude
of
domains,

difficulties
emotional
regulation
are
recognized
as
risk

recent
rise
in
suicide
rates
among
children
and
adolescents
has
made
prevention
youth
a
major
focus
of
government
agencies
mental
health
organizations.

2012,
Nock

future
directions

to
better
examine
which
risk
factors
are
associated
with
