Abstract Microorganisms play a crucial role in mediating global biogeochemical cycles the marine environment. By reconstructing genomes of environmental organisms through metagenomics, researchers are able to study metabolic potential Bacteria and Archaea that resistant isolation laboratory. Utilizing large metagenomic dataset generated from 234 samples collected during Tara Oceans circumnavigation expedition, we were assemble 102 billion paired-end reads into 562 million contigs, which turn co-assembled consolidated 7.2 contigs ≥2 kb length. Approximately 1 these binned reconstruct draft genomes. In total, 2,631 with an estimated completion ≥50% (1,491 >70% complete; 603 >90% complete). A majority manually assigned phylogeny based on sets concatenated phylogenetic marker genes and/or 16S rRNA gene sequences. The now publically available for research community at-large.
