A novel cathode, iron-nickel alloy modified carbon aerogel (FeNi-CA), was successfully synthesized and utilized as the cathode in an electro-Fenton process for acetaminophen degradation. The incorporation of Fe Ni matrix resulted superior electrochemical characteristics catalytic performance compared to Fe-CA Ni-CA. unique microstructure FeNi-CA, including presence nanoparticles, defects, abundant oxygen functional groups, enhanced 2e− reduction activity electrocatalytic performance. This enabled FeNi-CA exhibit a dual functionality H2O2 electro-generation situ activation. demonstrated good over wide pH range at low current density 4.44 mA/cm2. Under optimal conditions, 99.9 % removed with reaction rate constant (kobs) 0.054 min−1 through electro-sorption oxidation processes. Importantly, satisfactory degradation effect achieved absence external aeration. work provides potential wastewater treatment solution without need aeration or additional chemical input by simultaneously achieving evolution anode cathode. Furthermore, reusability controlled metal leaching after five consecutive runs, suggesting its sustained use processes long term.

A synergistic combination of electrocoagulation-electrooxidation (EC-EO) process was used in the current study to treat domestic greywater. The EC consisted an aluminium (Al) anode and iron (Fe) cathode, EO titanium with platinum coating mesh (Ti/Pt) as stainless steel a cathode. effect operative variables, namely density, pH, time time, on removal chemical oxygen demand (COD), colour, turbidity, total organic carbon (TOC) studied optimised using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). results showed that although pH affected all pollutants, it had more turbidity contribution 88.44%, while density main dominant colour 73.59%. It also found at optimal operation conditions for 2.6 A, initial 4.67, 31.67 min, 93.28 min led COD, TOC rates 96.1%, 97.5%, 90.9%, 98%, respectively, which were close predicted results. average operating cost energy consumption 0.014 $/m3 0.01 kWh/kg, 0.083 0.008 0.075 0.062 0.105 0.079 respectively.
