Abstract Recent developments in EEG hardware and analyses approaches allow for recordings both stationary mobile settings. Abstract Most research investigating auditory perception is conducted in controlled laboratory settings, potentially restricting its generalizability to the complex acoustic environment outside lab. The present study, contrast, investigated attention with long-term recordings (> 6 h) beyond lab using a fully mobile, smartphone-based ear-centered electroencephalography (EEG) setup minimal restrictions for participants. Twelve participants completed iterations of two variants an oddball task where they had react target tones and ignore standard tones. A rapid variant (tones every 2 s, 5 min total time) was performed seated full focus morning, around noon afternoon under conditions. sporadic minute, 160 once morning while followed their normal office day routine. EEG data, behavioral movement data (with gyroscope) were recorded analyzed. expected increased amplitude P3 component response tone observed both oddball. As the field of educational neuroscience continues to grow, questions have emerged regarding ecological validity and applicability this research practice. Recent advances in mobile neuroimaging technologies made it possible conduct neuroscientific studies directly naturalistic learning environments. We propose that embedding a cycle (Matusz, Dikker, Huth, & Perrodin, 2019), involving lab-based, seminaturalistic, fully experiments, is well suited for addressing questions. With review, we take cautious approach, by discussing valuable insights can be gained from technology, including electroencephalography functional near-infrared spectroscopy, as challenges posed bringing methods into classroom. Research paradigms used alongside technology vary considerably. Abstract Environmental psychologists have established multiple psychological benefits of interaction with natural, compared to urban, environments on emotion, cognition, and attention. Yet, given the increasing urbanisation worldwide, it is equally important understand how differences within different urban influence human experience. We developed a laboratory experiment examine psychophysiological effects physical (outdoor or indoor) social (crowded versus uncrowded) environment in healthy young adults, validate use mobile electroencephalography (EEG) electrodermal activity (EDA) measurements during active walking. Participants (N = 42) were randomly assigned into walking standing group, watched six 1-min walk-through videos green, indoor outdoor environments, depicting high low levels density. Self-reported emotional states show that green spaces perceived as more calm positive, reduce attentional demands. Further, space positively than environment. These findings are consistent earlier studies nature confirm effectiveness our paradigm stimuli. ABSTRACT Interoception, the internal perception of bodily states such as heartbeat and hunger, plays a crucial role in shaping cognitive emotional states. Since postural control affects processing, exploring effects on interoception could help uncover neural mechanisms underlying its cognition emotion. In this study, we aimed to investigate how different postures affect by using heartbeat‐evoked potentials (HEPs), which reflect cortical processing cardiac signals. Two experiments were conducted; Experiment 1 involved 47 healthy male participants comparing sitting standing postures, 2 24 stable unstable conditions. HEPs analyzed cluster‐based permutation analysis identify statistically significant spatiotemporal clusters. 1, clusters identified over central electrodes (Cz, C1, C2, FCz, FC1) within post‐R‐wave interval 304–572 ms, revealing significantly lower HEP amplitudes during compared [ W = 80, p < 0.001, r 0.62]. 2, t (20) 2.9, 0.0099, d Furthermore, found no correlations between changes physiological activity periodic aperiodic brain activity. These findings suggest differences modulate interoceptive with attenuating amplitudes, probably because redistribution attentional resources from somatosensory (proprioceptive) vestibular necessary for maintaining posture. This study provides insights into posture–interoception interaction.
