Abstract Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are synthetic receptors with tailor‐made recognition sites for target molecules. Their high affinity and selectivity, excellent stability, easy preparation, low cost make them promising substitutes to biological in many applications where molecular is important. In particular, spherical MIP nanoparticles (or nanoMIPs) diameters typically below 200 nm have drawn great attention because of their surface‐area‐to‐volume ratio, removal templates, rapid binding kinetics, good dispersion handling ability, undemanding functionalization surface modification, compatibility various nanodevices vivo biomedical applications. Recent years witnessed significant progress made the preparation advanced functional nanoMIPs, which has eventually led expansion from traditional separation catalysis fields burgeoning areas. Here, a comprehensive overview key recent advances nanoMIPs important (including immunoassays, drug delivery, bioimaging, biomimetic nanomedicine) presented. Abstract Chiral discrimination is critical in environmental and life sciences. However, an ideal chiral strategy has not yet been developed because of the inevitable nonspecific binding entity wrong enantiomers or insufficient intrinsic optical activities molecules. Here, we propose “inspector” recognition mechanism (IRM), which implemented on a imprinted polydopamine (PDA) layer coated surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) tag layer. The IRM works based permeability change PDA after scrutiny by inspector molecule. Good enantiomer can specifically recognize fully fill cavities, whereas cannot. Then linear shape aminothiol molecule, as status introduced, only percolate through vacant nonspecifically occupied inducing SERS signal to decrease. Accordingly, chirality information exclusively stems from good specific binding, while curbed. benefits sensitivity versatility, enabling absolute wide variety molecules regardless size, functional groups, polarities, activities, scattering, number centers.
