Perovskite solar cells (PSC) have been identified as a game-changer in the world of photovoltaics. This is owing to their rapid development performance efficiency, increasing from 3.5% 25.8% decade. Further advantages PSCs include low fabrication costs and high tunability compared conventional silicon-based cells. paper reviews existing literature discuss structural fundamental features that resulted significant gains. Key electronic optical properties electron mobility (800 cm2/Vs), long diffusion wavelength (>1 μm), absorption coefficient (105 cm−1). Synthesis methods are considered, with solution-based manufacturing being most cost-effective common industrial method. Furthermore, this review identifies issues impeding large-scale commercialisation actions needed resolve them. The main issue stability particularly vulnerable moisture, caused by inherently weak bonds perovskite structure. Scalability also big spin-coating technique used for laboratory-scale tests not appropriate production. highlights need transition techniques compatible roll-to-roll processing achieve throughput. Finally, discusses future innovations, more environmentally friendly lead-free high-efficiency multi-junction Overall, provides critical evaluation advances, opportunities challenges PSCs.

Further enhancing the performance and stability of inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is crucial for their commercialization. We report that functionalization multication halide interfaces with an organometallic compound, ferrocenyl-bis-thiophene-2-carboxylate (FcTc2), simultaneously enhanced efficiency PSCs. The resultant devices achieved a power conversion 25.0% maintained >98% initial after continuously operating at maximum point 1500 hours under simulated AM1.5 illumination. Moreover, FcTc2-functionalized passed international standards mature photovoltaics (IEC61215:2016) have exhibited high damp heat test (85°C 85% relative humidity).

Evening out the heat The conversion of precursors into active layer perovskite solar cells normally occurs by heating underlying substrate. Conversion tends to occur near top film, where solvent is lost, and unwanted preheating reactants substrate before reaction. Li et al . show that use a surrounding transfer oil (anisole) leads more rapid even heating, removes solvent, avoids air water contamination effects. larger grains uniform films led much greater retention efficiency in moving from small-area large-area devices. —PDS

To understand degradation routes and improve the stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs), accelerated aging tests are needed. Here, we use elevated temperatures (up to 110°C) quantify encapsulated CsPbI3 PSCs under constant illumination. Incorporating a two-dimensional (2D) Cs2PbI2Cl2 capping layer between active hole-transport stabilizes interface while increasing power conversion efficiency all-inorganic from 14.9 17.4%. Devices with this 2D did not degrade at 35°C required >2100 hours 110°C illumination by 20% their initial efficiency. Degradation acceleration factors based on observed Arrhenius temperature dependence predict intrinsic lifetimes 51,000 ± 7000 (>5 years) operating continuously 35°C.
