MnFe2O4 Nanoparticles‐Catalyzed C3‐Alkylation of Indoles with Benzyl Alcohols under Solvent‐Free Conditions

Abstract
Herein,
we
present
an
efficient,
one‐pot
reaction
for
accessing
3‐benzylated
indoles
via
the
coupling
of
benzyl
alcohols
with
under
heterogeneous
catalysis
by
manganese
ferrite
(MnFe
2
O
4
)
nanoparticles.
Notably,
this
reaction,
first
time,
employs
MnFe
nanoparticles
prepared
using
a
simple
grinding
method.
The
high
compatibility
enables
broad
substrate
scope
and
regioselectivity.
Moreover,
approach
offers
several
attractive
highlights
including
use
recyclable
oxide
catalyst
green
cost‐effective
alkylating
reagents
solvent‐free
conditions.

prepared
in
a
hydrogen
autotransfer
alkylation
and
tested
combination
natural
unnatural
clavine
alkaloids
model
of
light-induced
retinal
degeneration
for
protection
against
degeneration.
On
basis
measurements
optical
coherence
tomography
electroretinography,
three
compounds
showed
better
efficacy
than
positive
control
bromocriptine
equivalent
systemically
administered
doses.
These
studies
provide
further
insights
into
role
serotonin
receptors
their
potential
therapeutic
applications
ocular
diseases.

ionic
catalysis,
which
allows
DMC
act
as
both
nucleophilic
an
electrophilic
precursor,
resulting
N-benzylindolyl
ketones.
