Methylmercury (CH3Hg(I)), produced by the action of aquatic bacteria on inorganic mercury, is most hazardous among mercury species. To date, no ratiometric fluorescent probes have been reported for detection both CH3Hg(I) and Hg(II) in environments live cells. Herein, we designed a novel probe incorporating peptide containing histidine residue with self-assembly properties specific to species fluorophore that exhibits red-shifted emissions upon aggregation. The effectively detected aqueous solutions (1% DMSO) through fluorescence sensing visible-light excitation (445 nm). exhibited high selectivity 19 metal ions, rapid response times (<4 s CH3Hg(I)), low limits (12.5 nM 248.6 reversible sensing, broad operational pH range. As result, was successfully employed real-time cells distinct changes. A comprehensive binding mode study using dynamic light scattering, IR CD spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy revealed chelation metal-binding site triggers complex, enabling fast sensitive combination self-assembling responsive provides valuable platform quantification analytes, particularly complex matrices.

An amino acid-based fluorophore probe, L-tryptophan appended naphthalene di-imide (NDI-W) forms stable hydrogels selectively in the presence of chaotropic anions (SCN-, ClO4 -, I-, and NO3 -), borderline anion (Br-) F- 50 mM phosphate buffer pH 8 -. NDI-W did not form kosmotropic (S2O3 2-, SO4 CH3COO-, citrate) at same conditions. However, gel-like assemblies for S2O3 IO3 HSO3 HCO3 NO2 - precipitate formation H2PO4 HSO4 citric acid have been observed. Interestingly, hydrogel 4 times higher concentration also compared to used induced hydrogelations however, when ionic HPO4 2- is added into it. All these are thixotropic nature. Abstract Hydrogel-based softmaterials have attracted significant attentions in various fields due to their high water content, good biocompatibility and variable mechanical strength. However, the hydrophilic properties of hydrogel networks, most hydrogel-based soft materials are easy swell monotonous surface wettability. Here, taking advantage intrinsic hydrophobicity siloxane, novel heteronetwork organohydrogels were synthesized by covalently integrating reactive siloxane monomers into networks through emulsion polymerization. The exhibited adaptive wettability owing rearrangement chemistry induced different solvent condition. Moreover, heterogeneous endowed with excellent antiswelling abilities or oil (n-heptanes). potential application prepared field oil/water separation was also preliminarily explored. idea method polysiloxane hydrogels this study might provide a new insight develop high-performance polysilxane-based gel materials.
