As the new green solvent, ionic liquid is widely used in separation, synthesis, electrochemistry, and catalysis research. Accompanied by oil sulfur content, high standards, strict requirements, how to achieve deep desulfurization has become a challenge that refineries must face. To comprehensively understand liquids for research, 848 papers from 2008 2023 are as research data this paper. Visualization analysis were carried out with help of bibliometric methods. The study found Chinese publications first position, literature on topic shows more apparent geographical trend. Ionic currently mainly catalysts or extractants extractive oxidative technologies fuel oils. Abstract This study aims to explore technological advances and prospects in phenol treatment by providing a detailed bibliometric survey of wastewater applications, highlighting innovative research. Using the Web Science database, we identified 79,104 articles from 2003 2023, later refined 1848.
