The connection between plain water intake (PWI) and osteoporosis risk is still unclear. investigation aimed to identify the relationship PWI in middle-aged elderly individuals United States (US). This cross-sectional study was conducted among participants aged 50 years older following waves of National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES): 2007-2008, 2009-2010, 2013-2014, 2017-2018. examined by multivariable logistic regression models, accompanied subgroup analyses interaction tests. Smooth curve fitting threshold effect analysis were utilized. present included 6,686 participants. In accordance with fully adjusted model, highest tertile had a significantly reduced contrast those lowest [odds ratio (OR) = 0.62; 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.49-0.77; P for trend<0.001]. After adjusting all covariates, higher linked decreased (OR 0.92; CI: 0.86-0.98; p 0.008). The aim of this study was to develop a machine learning (ML) model for classifying osteoporosis in Korean women based on large-scale population cohort study. This also aimed assess ML performance compared with traditional screening tools. Furthermore, examine the factors influencing risk through variable importance. Data collected from 4199 aged 40-69 years baseline survey Ansan and Ansung Genome Epidemiology Study. Osteoporosis set as dependent classification models. Independent variables included 122 related risk, such socio-demographic characteristics, anthropometric parameters, lifestyle factors, reproductive nutrient intakes, diet quality indices, medical history, medication family biochemical genetic factors. six models were developed using techniques, including decision tree, random forest, multilayer perceptron, support vector machine, light gradient boosting extreme (XGBoost). two tools, assessment instrument (ORAI) self-assessment tool (OST). performances evaluated confusion matrix area under curve (AUC) metrics. Variable importance assessed XGBoost technique investigate showed highest out models, an accuracy 0.705, precision 0.664, recall 0.830, F1 score 0.738. Soy beverages (SB) are the most popular beverage in expanding market of plant-based drinks. They provide high-quality protein and polyphenols often Ca-fortified as a milk alternative. This work evaluated antioxidant potential, mineral content, fatty acid profiles found SB, analysing well bioaccessibility some nutrients after INFOGEST static digestion. Five types SB available market, including Ca-fortified, high-protein, low-fat drinks, were analysed. Ca supplementation high content significantly enhanced bioaccessibility. The lipid profile demonstrated substantial changes during digestion, due to drastic reductions saturated acids marked increases polyunsaturated bioaccessible fractions; these mainly related levels beverages. Significant properties, measured by ABTS FRAP assays, noticed digestive process. Additionally, ROS generation Caco-2 cells induced oxidative damage was prevented BF digested SB. drink, which also had low level showed least activity. In conclusion, composition soy drink considerably affected nutritional components drink’s potential.

Published: May 13, 2025

Detecting trace elements in nutritionally fortified foods is essential for safeguarding public health, as these micronutrients play a critical role various biological processes, including enzyme functionality, cellular metabolism, and the structural integrity of macromolecules; however, current analytical methods are often limited by high operational costs, complex sample preparation, requirement specialized technical expertise. This review highlights transformative potential nanotechnology addressing challenges, showcasing how nanomaterials enhance element detection through specific ligand recognition, oxidation-reduction reactions, adsorption, enzyme-like activities, resonance energy transfer mechanisms. We discuss integration monodentate, bidentate, polydentate ligands nanomaterial-based systems to improve specificity stability, explore implications technologies such surface plasmon (SPR), surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), fluorescence, electrochemical signal, spectral signal advancing capabilities. Incorporating with advanced data processing portable inspection equipment anticipated capabilities, paving way real-time monitoring that fortifies food safety protocols, ensuring quality ultimately contributing improved health outcomes.

Nutraceuticals are gaining popularity as they can contribute to bone health by delaying the onset or slowing down progression of pathological loss. Osteoporosis’s loss is a concern for older adults and crucial aspect aging. Maintaining healthy bones key living full active life. Our review explores current knowledge on role nutraceuticals in preventing osteoporosis focusing three main aspects. First, we provide an overview osteoporosis. Second, discuss latest findings natural their efficacy reducing loss, emphasizing clinical trials. Third, conduct structured analysis evaluate nutraceuticals’ pros cons identify translational gaps. In conclusion, must address several challenges consolidate our knowledge, better support clinicians prescriptions, people with more reliable nutritional recommendations help them lead healthier lives.
