Abstract The growing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) dialogue systems within educational and research settings highlights the importance learning aids. Despite examination ethical concerns associated with these technologies, there is a noticeable gap in investigations on how issues AI contribute to students’ over-reliance systems, such affects cognitive abilities. Overreliance occurs when users accept AI-generated recommendations without question, leading errors task performance context decision-making. This typically arises individuals struggle assess reliability or much trust place its suggestions. systematic review investigates particularly those embedded generative models for academic learning, their critical capabilities including decision-making, thinking, analytical reasoning. By using Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, our evaluated body literature addressing contributing factors effects contexts. comprehensive spanned 14 articles retrieved from four distinguished databases: ProQuest, IEEE Xplore, ScienceDirect, Web Science. Our findings indicate that stemming impacts abilities, as increasingly favor fast optimal solutions over slow ones constrained by practicality. tendency explains why prefer efficient shortcuts, heuristics, even amidst presented technologies.

The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in programming assistance has garnered researchers’ attention for its potential to reduce learning costs users, increase work efficiency, and decrease repetitive coding tasks. However, given the novelty AI Coding Assistant Tools (AICATs), user acceptance is currently limited, factors influencing this phenomenon are unclear. This study proposes an expanded model based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) that incorporates characteristics AICAT users explore key affecting college students’ willingness use AICATs. Utilizing a survey methodology, 303 Chinese participants completed questionnaire. Factor analysis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) results indicate users’ dependence worry (DW) about AICATs positively affects perceived risk (PR), which turn negatively impacts usefulness (PU) ease (PEOU), thus reducing use. Dependence concerns also impact trust (PT), while PT PU PEOU, thereby enhancing Additionally, user’s self-efficacy (SE) DW PEOU. discusses significance these findings offers suggestions developers foster promote widespread

Background Artificial Intelligence (AI) has permeated various aspects of daily life, including education, specifically within higher education settings. These AI technologies have transformed pedagogy and learning, enabling a more personalized approach. However, ethical practical concerns also emerged, the potential decline in cognitive skills student motivation due to excessive reliance on AI. Objective To develop validate Scale for Dependence (DIA). Methods An Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was used identify underlying structure DIA scale, followed by Confirmatory (CFA) assess confirm this structure. In addition, scale’s invariance based participants’ gender evaluated. Results A total 528 university students aged between 18 37 years ( M = 20.31, SD 3.8) participated. The EFA revealed unifactorial which subsequently confirmed CFA. Invariance analyses showed that scale is applicable consistent both men women. Conclusion DAI emerges as robust reliable tool measuring students’ dependence Its makes it diverse population studies. age digitalization, essential understand dynamics humans navigate wisely ensure beneficial coexistence.
