Contributing to the growing interest in understanding impact of farmer cooperatives on rural household welfare, we add new empirical evidence current literature and debate. In particular, this study investigates sales per hectare land crop diversification, which have been largely overlooked. We apply Propensity Score Matching method Cambodia Inter-Censal Agricultural Survey 2019, with its large sample size 16,000 small-scale producers. Additionally, perform a robustness check ensure our findings are unbiased. Results indicate that Cambodian farmers perceive as risk-sharing mechanism or knowledge-sharing platform provides technical know-how cope natural calamities. (PSM) outputs show significantly positive participating diversification index. This thus advocates increasing support implementing policies by government help thrive expand.

Promoting rural sustainable development requires improving systems’ self-organization to reduce dependence on external resources, which is inherently difficult in peasant economies due low household income. Bottom-up collective action can help address these issues. However, few studies have examined how networks of elite and non-elite actors influence system transitions toward sustainability. This study scrutinizes the changing structures collaborative three Chinese villages through analysis actor groups their relationships. We also examine key elements that at every phase development. The case demonstrate (1) elites play a vital role formation facilitate awareness; (2) spatial relationships are as essential institutional design for successful response problems; (3) highly centralized improve efficiency reorganization, renewal, innovation village system, but outcome depends leadership central actors; (4) social memory human capital most important needed exploit technology-driven windows opportunity achieve strong These results provide insights enhancing capacity self-organize capturing

Addressing the global challenge of sustainable waste management, this research investigates influence social dynamics and digital connectivity on rural residents’ willingness to adopt classification practices, essential for environmental management. Through a comprehensive analysis 5413 participants surveyed in China Labor-force Dynamic Survey (CLDS), study employs novel mixed-methods approach. It integrates quantitative with Manski interaction framework Recursive Bivariate Probit model explore intricate interplay between community interactions, internet access, behaviors. Our methodology stands out its unique combination theory econometric modeling address pressing issue. Results highlight significant effect mobile use interactions within communities enhancing towards classification. Enhancing collective action among rural households is crucial for promoting revitalization and improving livelihoods in underdeveloped areas. Taking Shanxi Province, China, as a case study, this paper employed household survey method to collect 312 questionnaires from households. Using the mean value analysis of measured items questionnaire. The participation status farmers less developed areas actions, such farmers’ professional cooperatives, village cadre elections, cooperative construction small farmland water conservancy, was examined four aspects: willingness participate, frequency participation, time sense participation. From perspectives livelihood risks, assets, patterns, income, it analyzed conditions regions. Building upon empowerment livelihoods, study further applied multiple linear regression model assess impact on livelihoods. findings indicated (1) strong perceived participate action, albeit with low limited commitment; (2) relatively levels, characterized by predominant subsistence farming, small-scale non-specialized enterprises, yet notable resilience against risks; (3) that significantly enhances positively. Based these findings, policy recommendations are proposed, emphasizing enhancement organization, provision incentive mechanisms, improvement skills qualities foster greater action.

The accelerated pace of urbanization and industrialization in China has given rise to air pollution the form PM2.5. This poses significant threats atmospheric environment human health. Traditional statistical models often lack required data precision for medium or small-scale epidemiological pollutant exposure studies. Therefore, alternative approaches must be developed. study employs Random Forest (RF) model, utilizing measured PM2.5 concentration auxiliary data, simulate with 1 km spatial resolution 2015–2019. results showed that: (1) RF model was sufficiently accurate a 10-fold CV, resulting coefficient determination (R2) 0.75, root-mean-square error (RMSE) measuring at 13.24 μg/m3, mean absolute (MAE) 9.12 μg/m3 (2) A notable variation dynamic pattern were observed. geographical distribution displayed elevated levels northern regions subdued southern regions, most values recorded Xinjiang Northern China. (3) Pollution five major urban agglomerations, ranked from high low, as follows: Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH), Guanzhong Plain (GZP), Yangtze River Delta (YRD), Chengdu-Chongqing (CY), Pearl (PRD). (4) whole country generally downward trend. These findings offer valuable scientific insights support environmental protection research endeavors.
