Breakthrough green innovation acts as a critical leverage point and fundamental driver of the development new productive forces. This study employs sample 108 cities along Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2011 to 2021 investigate impact digital infrastructure on urban breakthrough its underlying mechanisms. The findings are follows: (1) Digital construction facilitates innovation, with notably more substantial strategic innovation. result is validated through robustness endogeneity tests. (2) Heterogeneity analysis indicates that enhancement effect prominent in non-resource-based cities, higher levels marketisation, those weaker environmental regulations, particularly significant influence substantive (3) Mechanism reveals upgrading industrial structures, optimising market resource allocation, increasing public awareness mechanisms which strengthens capacity. Additionally, improvements occur structure, allocation efficiency, awareness, capacity displays nonlinear effect.

Green finance plays a critical role in promoting regional green innovation. However, the precise influence of on diverse facets innovation remains underexplored. This study empirically analyses effects heterogeneous by applying negative binomial model, threshold andthe spatial error model using China's data from 2010 to 2019. The results indicate that has positive impact performance, primarily through significant contributions fossil energy carbon reduction, conservation and recovery, clean technology effect is also influenced level local environmental supervision, exhibiting effect. In addition, development region can have siphoning resources surrounding areas, hindering their development. These findings highlight necessity for strategic government policy-making, which should leverage impacts various forms Customizing financial instruments suit regulatory conditions levels neighboring regions could significantly aid transformation growth.

Traditional transportation development has yielded significant economic and social benefits, but it also led to increased pollution emissions substantial environmental impacts. Transport become a major source of carbon in China. Against the backdrop national goals for "carbon peak" neutrality", smart offers fresh perspective on reducing emission intensity. In this study, both provincial enterprise-level data from China are used examine critical role intensity macro micro perspectives, dynamic threshold model is employed validate inverted U-shaped relationship between energy structure digital infrastructure reduction process facilitated by transportation. addition, mechanism, green innovation economy play pivotal roles. Multiple robustness tests confirmed reliability empirical analysis. This study highlights important transport provides valuable insights developing countries aimed at transitioning toward environmentally friendly, low-carbon, intelligent advanced transport.

Introduction In the digital era, new infrastructures (NDIs) play a pivotal role in fostering economic growth and technological innovation. However, their ecological impact, particularly on carbon dioxide emissions, remains underexplored. Addressing this gap holds significant practical theoretical value. Methods Utilizing panel data from 283 Chinese cities spanning 2009 to 2020, study employs two-way fixed-effects model empirically assess influence of NDIs urban emissions (UCE). Additionally, mediation effect is used examine mechanisms influence. Results The findings reveal that: (1) significantly mitigate UCE levels, conclusion supported by robustness tests involving instrumental variables exogenous policy shocks smart city pilot programs; (2) primarily impact through two channels: economy green technology innovation; (3) heterogeneity analysis indicates that predominantly curb with lower administrative while positively contributing intensity higher level cities. Notably, substantially reduce non-old industrial cities, negligible old Discussion This research expands understanding economic-environmental implications NDIs, offering valuable insights for policymakers regarding NDIs’ environmental impacts. It also provides strategic guidance low-carbon transitions big era.
