Aim: The purpose of this evidence-to-practice commentary is to provide strategies for sustaining solution-focused coaching (SFC) training outcomes and changes clinical practice at person, team, organizational levels.Methods: In the original study focus, research team conducted qualitative interviews with 13 service providers 6 months after completing 2 days SFC used a thematic analysis explore benefits challenges implementing approach.Results: findings indicated that clinicians found be effective valuable practice. Abstract Introduction Coaching is proposed as a core enabling skill of occupational therapy and increasingly suggested for diverse range health populations. In recent years, research on coaching has proliferated, emerging from within outside therapy. Yet, concern been raised about the absence theoretical underpinning diversity descriptions in therapy, well low‐quality evidence supporting its effectiveness. To explore solution-focused coaching (SFC) as a means to enhance pediatric rehabilitation practitioners' development of listening skills.Six clinicians each participated in two SFC sessions with an experienced coach who used practice model developed for (SFC-peds). Coaching, an evidence-based approach in other fields, is relatively novel within occupational therapy (OT) and not yet widely taught OT programs. In recent studies, experienced therapists have reported that coaching added value to their practice, but students’ perspectives are missing from the literature. This phenomenological study explored ( n = 14 ) perceptions of learning coach while fieldwork. Three themes emerged inductive qualitative analysis: Coaching Requires a Mindset Shift, Change Journey, Impact on Clients. Occupational students perceived required different way thinking reimagining role, saw clients’ outcomes, recognized potential for future practice regardless settings. The findings suggest incorporating skills into education could be beneficial when they enter profession.

Research demonstrates that interprofessional education (IPE) is effective in changing attitudes and behaviors among college students health professionals. This study utilized a longitudinal, mixed-methods design to assess impacts of brief IPE intervention focusing on multidimensional wellness promotion. The incorporated principles the Theory Planned Behavior (TPB), integrated conceptualization with Solution-Focused Coaching (SFC), an evidence-based approach behavior change. One hundred seventy-six (N = 176) from science programs (e.g. social work, nursing) at large Western university were recruited for study. Quantitative results demonstrated significant (p <.01) differences between pre, postintervention, six-week follow-up, as well control groups <.01). To augment quantitative data, brief, semi-structured interviews completed thirteen (n 13) participants. Results Applied Thematic Analysis (ATA) included five emergent themes: increased understanding, holistic patients, more training needed related wellness, encouraging small changes, importance self-care. Adoption of family and child goal-setting in paediatric rehabilitation is important to positive long-term outcomes. Solution-focused coaching (SFC) has been identified as a promising approach ensuring this type occurs, while the actual implementation SFC by health care providers (HCPs) low.
