Dropout in Online Education: A Longitudinal Multilevel Analysis of Elementary Students’ Extracurricular English Course Engagement in China DOI Creative Commons

While high dropout rates hinder the success of online education, little is known about patterns beyond adult particularly regarding time-related variables. This study aims to address this gap by analyzing data from 219 extracurricular English courses, involving approximately 300,000 Chinese elementary students. We employed a multilevel modeling technique and found that rate increased throughout semester peaked at chapter transitions. Furthermore, we also varied with grades semesters. Abstract The purpose of this research was to examine the influence academic emphasis on achievement, with mediating roles school belonging, student engagement, and resilience. adopted a cross‐sectional model, sample 452 participants selected through two‐stage stratified sampling procedure from public primary, middle, high schools, including students ( n = 400) principals 52). Academic Emphasis Scale, School Belonging Student Engagement Resilience Scale as data collection tools. Also, for determining students' grade point average scores in reading, mathematics, science were used. В статье рассматриваются факторы формирования цифровых компетенций студентов психологического направления в условиях смешанного обучения. Отмечается, что по мере развития технологий и ресурсов расширяются возможности образовательного процесса. Обучение онлайн предполагает наличие у студента необходимых компетенций, а именно умение ориентироваться интернет-пространстве, поиск, анализ критическая оценка информации, имеющейся открытом доступе. С целью выявления факторов, обуславливающих формирование психолого-педагогического направления, было проведено эмпирическое исследование, которое включало тестирование ценностно-мотивационных параметров трех вопросов, направленных на выявление субъективной оценки студентами своих возможностей способностей онлайн-среде. Проводился сравнительный зависимости от ответов вопросы критерию MANOVA, результаты которого показали, студенты различаются между собой курса (проходили не проходили обучение дистанционном режиме период пандемии COVID-19 вузе) онлайн-среде (p≤0,05). заключении делается вывод о том, включение образовательный процесс совместно с их оценкой собственной компетенции цифровой образовательной среде обуславливают выраженность мотивационно-ценностных параметров, которые могут выступать качестве факторов студентов. The article examines the factors in formation of digital competencies psychological students context blended learning. It is noted that as technologies and resources develop, possibilities educational process expand. Online learning presupposes student has necessary competencies, namely ability to navigate Internet, search, analyze critically evaluate information available public domain.
