The incomplete combustion of fossil fuels from petrol, natural gas, and fuel oil in the engine vehicles contributes to air quality degradation through traffic-related pollutant emissions. Real-time affordable multi-pollutant (RAMPs) monitors were installed Kigali, capital Rwanda, fill gap datasets. Using RAMPs, this is first modelling research Rwanda aiming report concentration NO2 by comparing In-situ monitored data modelled results. We targeted emissions 27 road networks Kigali address impacts traffic on over 2021. American Meteorological Society Environmental Protection Agency regulatory models (AERMOD ISCST3) used for simulation. Statistical indexes include fractional bias (FB), fraction prediction within factor two observations (FAC2), normalized mean square error (NMSE), geometric (MG), variance (VG) assess models' reliability. Monitoring shows annual 16.07 μg/m3, 20.35 15.46 μg/m3 at Mont-Kigali, Gacuriro, Gikondo-Mburabuturo stations, respectively. Modelling daily 111.77 annually 50.42 with AERMOD 200.26 72.26 ISCST3. FB, NMSE, FAC2 showed good agreement, while MG VG moderate agreement AERMOD. disagreed Traffic urban residential identified as potential sources NO2. Results indicated that residents are exposed a significant level exceeding World Health Organisation limits. Findings will help track effectiveness Rwanda's recently executed pollution-control policy, suggest evidence based recommendations reduce NO2, use further dispersion support ground-based improve public health.
