The field of transformative learning has garnered significant attention from researchers and practitioners in adult education due to its potential address the complex unpredictable challenges societal change. This study employs a bibliometric approach, analyzing data Scopus database covering years 1992 2023, identifying total 3412 research documents this field. analysis reveals several key findings. Purpose The purposes of this study are fourfold: (1) to explore the state ICT competency framework for teachers in higher education, (2) identify general themes and trends publications, key publication resources, authors, affiliations countries domain teachers’ competence (3) investigate relationships among author keywords understand interconnectedness within research on education (4) thematic evolution better current situation future trends. Clarivate Analytics provided a valuable tool based on Citation Productivity and Trajectory (CPT) indicator, which successfully identified particularly hot research global scale. To enhance the accuracy comprehensiveness identifying both active emerging trends, this study develops an extended formulation incorporating novel Impact Factor (IF) metric.
