The integration of BIM with other digital advancements has demonstrably led to an increase performance in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operation (AECO) industry. This not only is showing promising results boosting industry's performance, but also productivity promotes data-driven decision-making. Despite these benefits, there are limited studies that address data for managing built-assets general developing countries particular. To fill this gap, a closer assessment current built-asset information management practice necessary. examines how processes and/or technology can be seamlessly integrated into existing practices. In regard, study aims provide valuable insights increasing maturity by integrating BIM. uses case-based research design using (universities Addis Ababa) as public building representative capture prevailing practices Ethiopian buildings. findings reveal traditional paper-based still dominate built-assets. leads difficulties terms loss, unavailability, inaccuracy, unreliability, all which detrimental overall performance. Based on findings, conceptual framework designed improve help owners, end-users, managers defining requirements BIM-enabled asset management. delineates structured definition validation various from varying sources. utilizes platform single source truth offers comprehensive solution identified challenges. holds significant promise improving within context.

Purpose Although attention has been given to student’ issues at university level, the literature on social connectedness in digital space within hybrid teaching environment universities is relatively limited. The purpose of this study explore tertiary students’ experiences and learning environment. Design/methodology/approach This explores spaces using qualitative research approach gather data through 12 one-on-one interviews 18 participants’ focus group discussions. Findings findings indicate that with proper virtual facility management use, students experience interaction involvement; support care; valued relationships; interdependence Research limitations/implications Given scope, design method, limitations can be addressed future research. Originality/value unique it extends knowledge by providing insight into how a sub-Saharan Africa developing country context as well role education. Managerial implications are provided.
