Lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) serum concentration plays a crucial role as risk factor in cardiovascular diseases and is gaining more attention. Patients with elevated lipoprotein(a) levels are often prescribed statins they also have high concentrations of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). Statins drugs that successfully decrease LDL-C, but their effectiveness Lp(a) reduction uncertain. The aim this study was to evaluate if statin therapy can affect concentration. A literature search on databases like PubMed, Oxford Academic, ScienceDirect, Embase, Cochrane Library, Scopus, Springer Link conducted from 1 May 10 August 2024 the finding studies concerning effect levels. Only randomised control placebo/comparator arm were included. For calculations, SPSS Statistics software version 29 used. bias for assessed using revised risk-of-bias tool trials. Overall, 43 (13,264 participants arms 11,676 arms) included analysis. mean difference absolute change all equaled 0.22 mg/dL not clinically significant. Egger's regression-based test resulted no (p = 0.404). In conclusion, does significantly Results work suggest people will Lp(a)-associated (CV) by administration.

The optimal antithrombotic therapy strategies for patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) remain uncertain. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy safety of oral anticoagulants (OAC) among AF AMI. PubMed, Embase, Web Science were searched from inception till 5 February 2025. primary outcome was any stroke. Eleven studies 83 549 included. OAC associated lower risks stroke (odds ratio [OR]: 0.68; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.60-0.77; P < .001), ischemic (OR: 0.64; CI: 0.57-0.73; all-cause mortality 0.81; 0.74-0.89; .001). Additionally, a higher risk bleeding 1.24; 1.06-1.46; = .009), but not major 1.28; 0.87-1.90; .21). is effective AMI, should be administered cautiously in those at high risk.

Background Coronary heart disease (CHD) is one of the common chronic diseases in clinical practice, often accompanied by inflammatory reactions. In recent years, system inflammation response index (SIRI) has aroused researchers’ interest as a novel biomarker. This study aims to explore relationship between SIRI and CHD through National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database. Methods We conducted cross-sectional analyzed participants aged 40 above with complete data from NHANES survey years 2007–2016. Logistic regression analysis was used this risk SIRI. Stratified subgroup based on age, gender, race, education level, body mass (BMI), smoking status, drinking, hypertension, diabetes angina pectoris evaluate different populations. Additionally, restricted cubic spline (RCS) employed investigate whether there nonlinear association CHD. Results A total 6374 eligible were included, among whom 387 diagnosed The levels group significantly higher than those non-CHD group. After adjusting for potential confounders, an elevated level associated increased CHD, odds ratio 1.12, 95% CI: (1.03, 1.22), P = 0.008. Subgroup results indicated significant interaction genders ( <0.05), especially females. contrast, no observed BMI, >0.05). RCS showed linear non-linearity >0.05), inflection point at 2.86. Conclusion Our indicates that Particularly women.
