Fiber-optic distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) has proven to be a revolutionary technology for the detection of seismic and waves with ultralarge scale ultrahigh sensitivity, is widely used in oil/gas industry intrusion monitoring. Nowadays, single-frequency laser source DAS becomes one bottlenecks limiting its advance. Here, we report dual-comb–based coherently parallel concept, enabling linear superposition signals scaling comb-line number result unprecedented sensitivity enhancement, straightforward fading suppression, high-power Brillouin-free transmission that can extend distance considerably. Leveraging 10-line comb pairs, world-class limit 560 fε/√Hz@1 kHz 5 m spatial resolution achieved. Such combination dual-comb metrology may open an era extremely sensitive at fε/√Hz level, leading creation next-generation geophones sonars.

To achieve data-driven intelligence in engineering applications, the key requirements for distributed optical fiber sensor networks are large capacity, long distance, dense distribution, fast response, and high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Combining traditional reflectometry techniques with large-scale Bragg grating (FBG) array fabricated on-line by a drawing tower, multiplexing demodulation of thousands FBG sensors is successfully demonstrated, which greatly expands application to field sensing. In this work, fabrication, demodulation, applications arrays reviewed. Firstly, fabrication technology process introduced. Secondly, including wavelength based on time-domain (OTDR) frequency-domain (OFDR), as well phase phase-sensitive OTDR reviewed, where we mainly focus parameters such speed, spatial resolution, SNR. Optical fibre sensors are an essential subset of optical technology, designed specifically for sensing and measuring several physical parameters. These offer unique advantages over traditional sensors, making them gradually more valuable in a wide range applications. They can detect extremely small variations the parameters they to measure, such as analytes case biosensing. This high sensitivity allows subtle temperature, pressure, strain, refractive index analytes, vibration, other environmental factors with exceptional accuracy. Moreover, these enable remote capabilities. Since light signals used carry information, elements be placed at distant or inaccessible sites still communicate data back central monitoring system without signal degradation. In recent times, different attractive configurations approaches have been proposed enhance fibre-based sensor briefly explained this review. However, we believe that choice configuration should designated based on specific application. As continue evolve improve, will play increasingly vital role critical control applications across various industries.

Moving differential and dynamic window moving averaging are simple well-known signal processing algorithms. However, the most common methods of obtaining sufficient signal-to-noise ratios in distributed acoustic sensing use expensive precise equipment such as laser sources, photoreceivers, etc., neural network postprocessing, which results an unacceptable price monitoring system for potential customers. This paper presents fiber-optic sensors data noise suppression techniques applied both to raw (spatial temporal amplitude distributions) spectra obtained after Fourier transform. The performance algorithms’ individual parts sensor’s laboratory conditions optical fiber subjected various impact events is studied. A comparative analysis these parts’ efficiency was carried out, each type event, beneficial combinations were identified. feasibility existing reduction improvement proposed tested. Presented algorithms undemanding computation resources provide ratio enhancement up 13.1 dB.
