Role-play activities are considered a useful instructional design in enhancing the speaking performance of foreign language learners. However, traditional classroom context, learners may not readily have access to interlocutors for role-play activities. In this study, we proposed designed method that integrated GenAI agent into and conducted quasi-experiment at Chinese university. A total 53 students an English course were assigned experimental group ( n = 29) engaged role-playing with control 24) their class peers. The results showed could facilitate students’ performance, one-way ANCOVA there was no significant difference improvement when compared Moreover, paired-sample Wilcoxon test treatment had intrinsic motivation self-efficacy improvement, which higher than group. findings provide important implications implementation GenAI-integrated learning.

As generative AI tools are increasingly popular in today’s teaching and learning process, challenges opportunities occur at the same time. Self-directed has been regarded as a powerful ability that supports learners informal contexts its importance rises salience when incorporating into learning. This study employed mixed-method design to understand how people self-direct their online language through utilization of ChatGPT. Analyzing survey data from 276 respondents 11 one-to-one interviews with United States, we found motivated use for high flexibility personalization which enables access materials align knowledge levels, personal interests, goals. We also self-monitoring skills inherent help them ChatGPT more efficiently achieve goals efficiently. contributes emerging field education explores possibilities foster self-directed provide educators, instructional designers, researchers insights integrated best fulfill learners’ diverse needs expand people.

Using games as educational tools has been a captivating subject in the academic domain. There is an increasing number of digital designed to support architectural education. This paper introduces serious game aimed at enhancing basic design knowledge for first-year architecture students. The focuses on teaching and testing visual principles such emphasis, balance, rhythm. Based these principles, it allows students create 2D compositions grid pattern by placing manipulating simple shapes terms color, shape, size. final composition evaluated artificial intelligence (AI) tool integrated into game. AI predicts present composition, providing three possible outcomes with associated percentages. game, currently phase, played 126 students, user experience assessed through questionnaires, surveys, metrics. use this teach proven be effective method engaging active learning their understanding application concepts. innovative provide real-time feedback interactive nature have fostered deeper, experiential process. Additionally, proposed various ideas improve gaming experience, suggesting potential enhancements that could lead more refined enjoyable gameplay. These insights highlight game-based (DGBL) AI-enhanced creating environment.
