The purpose of this study was to clarify the concept engagement in rehabilitation by analyzing its application both theoretical and empirical literature. PubMed, Web Science, CINAHL, Embase, Scopus were searched for relevant studies published from January 1, 2003 July 14, 2024. A literature-based analysis carried out using Rogers' six-step evolutionary method. Literature screening data extraction conducted separately two researchers according predetermined inclusion exclusion criteria. basic information primary included extracted detail. In total, 41 analyzed. antecedents demographic factors, physical health, psychological emotional cognitive behavioral socio-cultural environmental programs. attributes contained collaborative therapeutic relationships, continual commitment investment, a dynamic process state, goal-oriented. consequences multidisciplinary collaborations, communication, functional recovery, future independent exercise, mental health. This clarified identified antecedents, attributes, concept. Further research is required investigate apply specific populations settings.

Background and Purpose: Growing numbers of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) are available to neurologic physical therapists guide inform evidence-based patient care. Adherence CPG recommendations often necessitates behavior change for patients. The purpose this qualitative study was gain insight into the experiences, perspectives, drivers behavioral working improve adherence a CPG. We also sought understand perspectives patients impacted by work. Methods: Five sites participated in 6-month implementation integrating local using Knowledge Action model. At conclusion intervention, were recruited participate semi-structured interviews or focus groups. An inductive phenomenological approach used data analysis. Two authors coded generate primary themes. A secondary analysis Capability, Opportunity, Motivation, Behavior (COM-B) model explain Results: Perspectives from 16 generated 6 themes around feedback/accountability, teamwork/belonging, complexity/adaptability, leadership/prioritization, engagement/benefit, motivation/growth. Twelve patients’ 2 communication/personalization support/recovery. Drivers associated with COM-B highlighted. Discussion Conclusions: Therapist supported inclusive goal-directed teams, regular quantitative audit feedback, opportunities learning, sense accountability their coworkers, patients, themselves. Patients’ engagement rehabilitation personalized education, objective measures progress, strong therapeutic relationship.
