Abstract This review focuses on antimicrobial packaging for food safety, critically examining the activity and efficacy of cannabinoids against commonly found microorganisms exploring their mechanisms. Specifically, considers derived from industrial hemp plants, which are characterized by low levels psychoactive components. It also outlines viable strategies to control sustained release packaging, enabling extended storage enhanced safety products. Research demonstrates that effective both foodborne bacteria fungi, with action primarily attributed microbial membrane instability. Cannabinoids can be utilized prepare films edible coatings; however, number studies in this area remains limited. The potential contribute intelligent systems is discussed, an emphasis regulatory aspects challenges associated incorporating into packaging. Finally, identifies future research directions address current limitations advance hemp‐based solutions.

Purpose This study aims to examine the impact of customer experience cannabis-infused food and beverage perception (sensory experience, novelty health concerns restaurant experience) on favouring these products subsequent citizenship behaviour. Design/methodology/approach Using a purposive sampling approach, an onsite survey was administered Thai Gen Z customers in consuming foods and/or beverages. Subsequently, sample consisted 330 respondents. Partial least squares structural equation modelling used for analyses. Findings The results indicated that sensory had significant positive effects favourability, turn, positively affected In addition, beverages partially mediated relationships between behaviour experience. Originality/value provides new contribution literature with first empirical examination showing among young consumers Thailand. It practical insights managers emerging markets leverage as part enhancement global industry. also offers example how move forward through unknown territory regarding perceptions consumer experiences.
