Little research has examined the correlates of children’s social withdrawal in real-world contexts beyond classroom. Here, we used a surgical setting as an ecologically salient stress model to study one type withdrawal: shyness. Online anxiety had strongest associations with other symptoms in network, "Evaluation anxiety" having highest expected influence centrality, followed by "Privacy concern anxiety," "Need approval," "Suspicion," "vulnerability." The FoMO symptom, "Fear information," direct relation addiction. information" played a key role bridging addiction sensitivity. Additionally, structure distribution edge weights significant difference gender. Past research suggests that expressions of shyness are associated with several distinct behaviors may differ between Eastern and Western cultures. However, this evidence has largely been derived from subjective ratings, such self-, teacher-, parent-report measures. In study, we examined between-country differences on measures directly observed shyness-related during a speech task in children. Participants were 74 Chinese (Mage = 4.76 years old, SDage 0.62 old; 77.0% male) 189 Canadian 4.80 0.82 48.1% children aged 4–6 years. Abstract The dysregulation of social fear has been widely studied in children's shyness, but we know little about how shy children regulate during unfair treatment. Although may be more physiologically impacted by unfairly, they mask their signal appeasement.
