Functioning is a construct capturing how an individual’s engagement in everyday life emerges from the interaction between individual and their environment. The World Health Organization’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability (ICF) provides biopsychosocial framework functioning. Background: Motor skills in early and middle childhood are essential for physical play, social interactions, academic development. Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often exhibit atypical sensory responses, which can impact self-care other developmental areas. This study explores the of motor rehabilitation using a Sensory Room to stimulate development children ASD. Methods: Twenty-five ASD, preschool school-aged (2-10 years), were divided into three groups based on DSM-5 severity levels. The PEP-3 scale was used assess cognitive, language, motor, emotional, social, behavioral Ten underwent 3-month intervention, data collected longitudinally. A control group ten children, matched age, sex, diagnosis, did not receive intervention. 12-month follow-up is planned all participants. Results: exhibited diverse profiles. Type B subjects displayed more severe symptoms, while showed milder symptoms better language interpersonal skills. After improvements noted several For levels (hypo-reactivity), percentage individuals at medium increased from 44% 50%. hyper-reactivity, rose 30% 40%. improved, high abilities rising 20% 25%. Relational behaviors also saw gains, an increase 50% 55% medium-level behaviors. experimental demonstrated outcomes compared group, particularly Conclusions: Preliminary findings suggest that training improves integration, coordination, interaction Further research needed confirm long-term benefits.

Importance Prior literature has explored the prevalence of motor impairments in autistic individuals, but estimates come from clinical, convenience, or small samples, limiting generalizability. Better understanding frequency milestone delays individuals could improve early identification and subsequently lead to earlier intervention better developmental outcomes. Objective To determine a population-based sample 8-year-old children evaluate if having is associated with an age at autism evaluation diagnosis. Design, Setting, Participants This cross-sectional study was conducted using Autism Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network data between surveillance years 2000 2016. ADDM are population based drawn 17 sites across US. Data were analyzed October 2023 August 2024. Exposure Binary indicator documented health educational records. Main Outcomes Measures The primary outcome among children. Associations diagnosis evaluated linear regression. Covariates included site, year, number discriminators, intellectual disability, child sex, race ethnicity. Results Among 32 850 aged 8 identified by active surveillance, 23 481 (71.5%) met criteria for delays. A total 5973 (18.2%) female. In regression models, significantly (mean age, 43.65 months; 95% CI, 43.38-43.91) than without 51.64 51.22-52.06). After stratifying co-occurrence disability (ID), those delays, regardless ID. Conclusions Relevance highlights association these evaluation, even co-occurring Early public priority, assessing particularly increased likelihood being autistic, may facilitate leading more timely interventions
