Mulching is an important practice to reduce soil water loss and improve productivity in agriculture. To investigate the influence of dual mulching with crushed wheat straw padding plastic film combined different irrigation amounts on nutrients growth edible sunflower, a field experiment was conducted Minqin Experimental Station Gansu Institute Hydraulic Sciences from 2016 2018. The adopted two-factor design four methods: no (N), (S) at 4500 kg ha−1, (F), (SF) three levels: high (H=900 m3 ha−1), medium (M=750 ha−1) low (L=600 ha−1). results showed that under were improved. available phosphorus (AP) content highest SFH treatment, varying significantly treatments (P < 0.05). Soil potassium (AK) alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen (AHN) contents also higher SFM treatment than other treatments. AP, AK AHN decreased depth, greater rate decrease 0–40 cm layer 40–120 layer. Overall, nutrient status improved by comparison mulching, gave best methods. level led better improvement levels. Dry matter yield sunflower varied treatments, yields obtained SFM, SFL, FH. However, plant height, stem diameter, leaf area, dry weight, head weight seed treatment. comprehensive score ranking principal component analysis indicated had planting practice. Therefore, oasis area drought little rain, it determined should be grown method as optimal conservation tillage through this study.

In order to investigate the comprehensive effects of straw returning on soil physical and chemical properties, as well cotton growth in Jiangsu, China, determine suitable high-yield efficient measures, this study implemented three different methods: mulching (SM), incorporation (SI), biochar (BC), with no served a control (CT). The aimed assess impact these straw-returning measures nutrients, moisture content, water storage, deficit status, primary indicators growth. findings revealed that total available nutrient storage under SM, SI, BC showed an increase 11.93%, 11.15%, 32.39%, respectively, compared CT. Among methods, demonstrated significant enhancement organic carbon phosphorus, potassium. Furthermore, SM exhibited considerable content across all layers (0–40 cm), resulting average 7.42 mm Consequently, effectively reduced during development period. Moreover, height plants was increased by BC, promoting greatest rate up 66.87%. resulted 11.17 cm plant Additionally, contributed higher chlorophyll leaves at end Overall, suggest is particularly effective enhancing distribution, especially dry years, has positive development. Based results, emerges recommended measure for improving quality maximizing production area.
