The Sociology of Self-Employment: A Typology and Reconciliation DOI

Self-employment accounts for a significant share of income-producing work but the ‘sociology self-employment’ remains embryonic. This article argues that, to date, sociologists have viewed self-employment through discrete lenses, rooted in different intellectual traditions. A novel typology is developed that conceptually maps extant analyses, revealing variety ways these lenses portray relationship capitalism. O presente estudo visa discutir como as análises foucaultianas do poder, pesquisa genealógica que permite pensar criticamente práticas organizing, podem ampliar a compreensão das dinâmicas organizacionais nos Estudos Críticos em Administração (ECA). Tomando referencial teórico genealogia foucaultiana, problematiza-se concepção tradicional de poder estudos algo hierárquico e centralizado, evidenciando sua natureza relacional, dinâmica produtiva múltiplos efeitos. Conclui-se epistemologia integrada à abordagem organizing (organização processos sociais dinâmicos), oferece contribuições significativas para os ECA, ao demonstrar o saber ética interagem na constituição, resistência recriação diversas.
