Living with metastatic cancer, or metavivorship, differs from cancer survivorship and has changed as novel treatments have increased survival time. The purpose of this narrative review is to describe factors that impact challenges in metavivorship within a conceptual framework guide future research. This focuses on the specific outcomes progressive disease, time, symptoms, distress, financial toxicity, quality life. We predisposing, precipitating, perpetuating (3P) model metavivorship. Understanding biological, psychological, social 3P contribute development maintenance provides roadmap for Implications include prevention by targeting predisposing factors, management precipitating after onset treatment reduce symptoms improve life during chronic phase can be accomplished through biopsychosocial screening efforts, monitoring patient-reported outcomes, education communication interventions, interdisciplinary symptom management, advance care planning, behavioral interventions cultivate psychological resilience.

Many therapeutically active molecules are non-soluble in aqueous systems, chemically and biologically fragile or present severe side effects. Lipid-based nanoparticle (LBNP) systems represent one of the most promising colloidal carriers for bioactive organic molecules. Their current application oncology has revolutionized cancer treatment by improving antitumor activity several chemotherapeutic agents. LBNPs advantages include high temporal thermal stability, loading capacity, ease preparation, low production costs, large-scale industrial since they can be prepared from natural sources. Moreover, association agents with lipid nanoparticles reduces therapeutic dose toxicity, decreases drug resistance increases levels tumor tissue decreasing them healthy tissue. have been extensively assayed vitro therapy but also vivo, results some clinical trials. Young women diagnosed with breast cancer face challenges that interfere their entire life psychological and physical effects. We employed a qualitative exploratory descriptive design, recruited twelve participants through purposive snowball sampling methods to conduct 12 individual interviews. A reputable review board in Ghana; Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, gave ethical clearance data collection. Data were transcribed verbatim analysed using thematic content analysis.Three themes emerged from the data; effects of cancer, treatment on body image, emotional diagnosis treatment. The negative incapacitated most limited activities daily living. Some experienced severe bodily weakness stayed indoors days. Most felt they looked unattractive because have had mastectomy done, used pieces rags handkerchiefs as prostheses. Those who hair loss chemotherapy different kinds wigs cover baldness. Almost all cried, depressed, became emotionally unstable when told diagnosis. denied diagnoses displaced anger healthcare personnel. few them brought disgrace families is perceived, disgraceful disease.Young require interventions support personnel families.

Sleep is essential for health. Indeed, poor sleep consistently linked to the development of systemic disease, including depression, metabolic syndrome, and cognitive impairments. Further evidence has accumulated suggesting role in cancer initiation progression (primarily breast cancer). patients with survivors frequently experience sleep, manifesting as insomnia, circadian misalignment, hypersomnia, somnolence hot flushes, nightmares. These problems are associated a reduction patients’ quality life increased mortality. Due heterogeneity among cancers, treatment regimens, patient populations lifestyle factors, etiology cancer-induced disruption largely unknown. Here, we discuss recent advances understanding pathways linking brain how this leads altered patterns. We describe conceptual framework where tumors disrupt normal homeostatic processes, resulting aberrant changes physiology behavior that detrimental Finally, knowledge can be leveraged develop novel therapeutic approaches cancer-associated disruption, special emphasis on host-tumor interactions.

Abstract Background This systematic review aims to identify the effects of exercise interventions in patients with breast cancer (BCP) and survivors (BCS) on selected variables physical fitness. Methods A comprehensive literature search was conducted using Medline Scopus. Randomized controlled trials isolated BCP BCS women (< 5 years from therapy completion) were included. The risk bias (RoB) assessment Cochrane RoB-2-tool. Variables regarding cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), strength (ST), fatigue (F) health-related quality life (HRQoL) discussed. Results Of 336 studies initially identified, 22 met all inclusion criteria deemed eligible. RoB indicated that had predominantly “some concerns” or “low RoB”, only 3 presenting a “high RoB”. mean duration frequency 19 weeks sessions/week, performed at moderate intensity (65% V O 2 max 66% 1RM, for aerobic resistance-training interventions, respectively). Conclusions Exercise seem be valuable strategy avoid decline CRF, ST, F HRQoL. Conversely, improved function among is observed same variables. Resistance training combined provide most encouraging variations outcomes. PROSPERO registration ID CRD42021237917.
