Introduction: Metabolic age (MA) is the difference between an individual’s actual and of their body based on physiological biological factors. It indicator that reflects a person’s physical state, regardless chronological age. Insulin resistance (IR) health disorder in which tissues exhibit reduced response to circulating glucose uptake stimulated by insulin. Objective: The aim this study evaluate association MA, determined through bioelectrical impedance analysis, risk IR, assessed using validated scales, cohort Spanish workers. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional was conducted 8590 workers assess MA set sociodemographic variables, habits, IR scales such as Triglyceride–Glucose Index (TyG Index), Score for Resistance (METS-IR), Single Point Sensitivity Estimator (SPISE). Results: All analyzed variables were associated with values, strongest associations observed scale values (OR 4.88 [95% CI 4.12–5.65] METS-IR, 4.42 3.70–5.15] SPISE, 3.42 2.97–3.87] TyG Index) activity. Conclusions: influenced age, sex, social class; habits smoking, activity, adherence Mediterranean diet; values.

Today, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and skeletal muscle atrophy (SMA) have become increasingly common occurrences. Whether the onset of T2DM increases risk SMA or vice versa has long been under investigation. Both conditions are associated with negative changes in health, which can, turn, lead to impaired physical function, a lowered quality life, an increased mortality. Poor nutrition can exacerbate both SMA. linked by vicious cycle events that reinforce worsen each other. Muscle insulin resistance appears be pathophysiological link between To explore this association, our review (i) compiles evidence on clinical association SMA, (ii) reviews mechanisms underlying biochemical muscles people at (iii) examines how nutritional therapy activity as muscle-targeted treatments benefit population. Abstract Background Cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) is an important indicator of current and future health. While the impact habitual physical activity on CRF well established, role sedentary behaviour (SB) remains less understood. Objective We aimed to determine effect SB CRF. Methods Searches were conducted in MEDLINE, Embase, PsycINFO, CINAHL SPORTDiscus from inception August 2022. Randomised controlled trials, quasi-experimental studies cohort that assessed relationship between eligible. Narrative syntheses meta-analyses summarised evidence, Grading Recommendations, Assessment, Development Evaluation (GRADE) certainty was based evidence randomised trials. Results This review included 18 focused youth (four three studies, 11 studies) 24 adult populations (15 five four studies). In adults, trials suggests mixed effects CRF, but with potential for interventions improve Quasi-experimental also support similar conclusions. Certainty very low both age groups. A meta-analysis found targeting reducing SB, or increasing had a significant post-peak oxygen consumption (mean difference = 3.16 mL . kg –1. min –1 , 95% confidence interval: 1.76, 4.57). Conclusions Evidence indicates associations influence as supported by meta-analytical findings. Abstract The efficacy of interrupting prolonged sitting may be influenced by muscle activity patterns. This study examined the effects time with different patterns on continuously monitored postprandial glycemic response. Eighteen overweight and obese men (21.0 ± 1.2 years; 28.8 2.2 kg/m 2 ) participated in this randomized four‐arm crossover study, including uninterrupted for 8.5 h (SIT) interruptions matched energy expenditure duration but varying activity: 30‐min walking at 4 km/h (ONE), 3‐min (WALK) or squatting (SQUAT) every 45 min 10 times. Net incremental area under curve ( net iAUC) glucose was compared between conditions. Quadriceps, hamstring, gluteal muscles electromyogram (EMG) averaged EMG amplitude (aEMG) were used to predict iAUC. Compared SIT (10.2 mmol/L/h [95%CI 6.3 11.7]), iAUC lower during interrupted any countermeasure (ONE 9.2 [8.0 10.4], WALK 7.9 [6.4 9.3], SQUAT all p < 0.05). Furthermore, resulted a ONE (both Only increased aEMG quadriceps (−0.383 [−0.581 −0.184], 0.001) (−0.322 [−0.593 −0.051], = 0.022) associated reduction Collectively, short, frequent breaks effectively enhance control single bout within sitting. These superior benefits seem intensity targeted groups transitions from activity.
