CVDs have several factors such as obesity, dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis, hypertension, and diabetes. Using herbal natural products plays a pivotal role in treatment different CVDs, diabetes, metabolic syndrome. Propolis, resinous mixture, is made by honey bees. Its main components phenolics terpenoid compounds caffeic acid phenethyl ester, chrysin, quercetin. In this review, multiple studies regarding pharmacological impacts propolis its constituents with their related mechanisms action against mentioned CVD been discussed detail. Here, we used electronic databases or search engines Scopus, Web Science, Pubmed, Google Scholar without time limitations. primary chrysin Propolis found to exhibit anti-obesity, anti-hypertension, anti-dyslipidemic, anti-atherosclerosis, anti-diabetic effects. vast majority review demonstrate that could therapeutic effects via antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, reducing adipogenesis, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitory effect, inhibition ACE, increasing insulin secretion, NO level, etc.

The COVID-19 pandemic renewed interest propolis products worldwide; fortunately, various aspects of the SARS-CoV-2 infection mechanism are potential targets for compounds. entry into host cells characterized viral spike protein interaction with cellular angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) serine protease TMPRSS2. This involves PAK1 overexpression, which kinase that mediates coronavirus-induced lung inflammation, fibrosis, suppression. Propolis components have inhibitory effects on ACE2, TMPRSS2 signaling pathways; addition, antiviral activity proven vitro vivo. In pre-clinical studies, promoted immunoregulation pro-inflammatory cytokines, including reduction IL-6, IL-1 beta TNF-α. monocytes macrophages, well Jak2/STAT3, NF-kB, inflammasome pathways, reducing risk cytokine storm syndrome, major mortality factor advanced disease. also shown promise an treatment comorbidities particularly dangerous patients, respiratory diseases, hypertension, diabetes, cancer. Abstract Propolis is a natural product with many biological properties including hypoglycemic activity and modulating lipid profile. The present study was designed to evaluate the effect of Iranian propolis extract on glucose metabolism, Lipid profile, Insulin resistance, renal liver function as well inflammatory biomarkers in patients type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). A double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial conducted. duration lasted 90 days. Patients T2DM were recruited randomly divided into an group (1000 mg/day) (n = 50) placebo 44). There significant decrease serum levels glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), 2-hour post prandial (2hpp), insulin, homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), assessment β-cell (HOMA-β), High sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). However, there notable elevation HDL-C compared group. In addition, reduction transaminase (ALT AST) blood urea nitrogen (BUN) concentrations observed. has beneficial effects reducing glucose, insulin cytokines. It also useful treatment for preventing dysfunction, as, elevating T2DM.
