Various air pollutants harm human fitness, like particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10), NO2, O3, CO, fully volatile chemical-free compounds. In the last decade, international organizations have continuously worked to keep Air Quality (AQ) guidelines standards updated refined synchronize AQ modeling management. The present been provided by different agencies, including California Ambient Standards (CAAQS), National Institute for Occupational Safety Health (NIOSH), (NAAQS), American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), World Organization (WHO), others. existing sensors management analysis, their corresponding specifications, supply current, response time, data resolution, typical detection domain, measurement repeatability, or tolerance are issues concern. These parameters discussed inspect research techniques focusing on indoor AQ. This study aims provide a quick overview monitoring systems. include portable, low-cost various Current trends future scope also presented after discussion.

Passive cooling strategies were implemented in 11 school buildings Barcelona within a pilot project to improve thermal conditions. The present study aimed evaluate the intervention's impact on students' comfort and well-being at school. A quasi-experimental pre-post based mixed methods was conducted. Quantitative data collected through self-reported questionnaires administrated sixth-grade students 21 schools (11 an intervention group, IG, 10 comparison CG). authors measured changes satisfaction with indoor temperature air quality (IAQ), presence of bothering factors (temperature too high, low, unpleasant odours, lighting problems), performance. Difference-in-difference analysis conducted differences between IG CG changes. Qualitative photovoice-based sessions (59 sixth grade students) interviews (7 teachers) IG. thematic content identified three main categories: perceptions environmental conditions, environment-related health well-being, environment their reported learning. findings show positive among perceived temperature, quality, school, while suggest no significant problems, performance, relation CG. Compared CG, perceiving high significantly decreased girls, odours only boys. In qualitative assessment, participants that transformations improved visual comfort, IAQ, odours. Participants also reduction fatigue, stress, irritability, stifling sensation, as well enhanced concentration. This highlights benefits passive design for student's Mediterranean climates suggests need extend these interventions other similar contexts.
