Abstract Background It is estimated that more than 57 million people have dementia worldwide, and it one of the leading causes care dependency in old age. Relatives other informal caregivers are most important support for individuals with dementia, but caring a loved may burden caregiver. Caregiver adverse outcomes both caregiver recipient, including decreased quality life. associated several factors concerning caregiver, relational contextual factors. The aim this study was to explore which caregivers’ subjective when living at home dementia. Methods This cross-sectional survey among home-dwelling all five geographical regions Norway. There were 540 who participated, 415 whom included regression analyses. Caregivers’ assessed Relatives’ Stress Scale. Covariates classified into four levels: individual (twofold: person dementia), relational, community, time. Linear multivariable analyses used identify associations between Results Several covariates statistically significantly levels. This paper explores the multifaceted experiences of informal caregivers providing care for family members afflicted with Alzheimer's disease, examining how these are influenced by social class, and role economic capital, cultural health capital. Drawing upon Bourdieu's theoretical framework, this conducts a qualitative thematic analysis to analyze twenty-five semi-structured interviews three medical professionals. The reveals distinct forms capital (economic, social, capital) shape caregiving disease. Notably, upper-class leverage both ease burden associated caregiving, while lower-class harness challenges prevailing deficit model shedding light on demonstrate resourcefulness in seeking support beyond system. However, findings also underscore persistent widening discrepancy experience. concludes policy suggestions, substantive implications, acknowledgement methodological limitations.
