Objective This meta-analysis evaluated the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) on test anxiety across diverse age groups and intervention modalities. Methods Rigorous inclusion criteria were applied to select studies focusing MBIs as independent variable, with outcome. A comprehensive search multiple databases yielded 18 primary studies, contributing 20 comparisons. Data extracted study characteristics, sample sizes, details, analyzed using a random-effects model. Results The analyses incorporated 1,275 participants, demonstrating moderate large negative effect (effect size = −0.716; 95% CI: −1.383 −0.049). Moderation analysis indicated that mean age, number sessions, delivery mode did not significantly influence sizes. Publication bias assessment suggested presence via Egger’s regression ( p 0.025), though Begg Mazumdar’s Duval Tweedie’s trim fill method no missing studies. Conclusion are effective in reducing anxiety, results should be interpreted caution due potential publication unexplained heterogeneity. impact vary participant or mode.
